How to remove wax?
Quite often when using wax products, it happens that hot drops fall on fabric or hard surfaces. Especially, this happens during the use of candles, which are based on various dyes. In this case, it is rather problematic to remove wax even from hard material. But there are several effective ways to help wipe the stain from different types of surfaces.
Tableware
It is easiest to remove wax from dishes, as the stain does not soak into the material. But it often happens that the contamination adheres quite tightly to the surface, in which case radical methods must be used. There are many effective ways to remove wax from dishes. The easiest option is to use a plastic spatula. For these purposes, you can use a small spatula for shoes.
Removing the paraffin layer should start from the extreme part. This applies not only to large, but also to small pieces.
Then, the traces that remain must be heated with a hairdryer and wipe the contaminated area with a tissue. To remove wax from dishes, you can use ordinary detergents. Often liquid soap is used for these purposes. First, you need to boil water in a large container, and then lower the dirty dishes into it. Add detergent to the pan, and leave it on fire for 10 minutes.Cleaned dishes must be thoroughly rinsed in cold water.
Another good option for cleaning products is baking soda. First, with a plastic spatula, it is necessary to remove the wax from the surface so that only the stain remains. Then, a small amount of soda is poured onto a soft sponge and the remaining trace is wiped. As in the previous case, the dishes are rinsed with cold water, but using detergent.
Hot steam should be used to process fragile materials.
It is necessary to boil the kettle and direct the stream of air to the contaminated area. Paper towels are used to remove paraffin residues. After cleaning is completed, the dishes must be rinsed in cold water. Please note that this method is suitable for processing heat-resistant objects.
clothing
If the wax accidentally gets on the fabric, you need to use a few simple methods to remove it. The most common option is the use of alcohol. To remove paraffin from clothes, you must first lay a towel under the fabric product. The contaminated area should be carefully treated with alcohol, then blotted with a paper towel.
If there is an unpleasant smell on the clothes, they should be washed in the usual way.
Often, a conventional detergent is used to clean fabric products. A small amount of the composition should be rubbed into the contaminated area. Wait a few minutes until the product dissolves the stain. Then the fabric product is rinsed in cold water. Please note that if a dye is present in the wax, then it is best to repeat the treatment, since the trace does not always come off after the first time.
You can remove paraffin residues from clothes using ordinary hydrogen peroxide. First, you need to lay a plastic bag under the fabric product, and then begin the processing itself.
Peroxide is poured into the place of pollution. For maximum results, it is best to place another bag on top. Then, all this is covered with a towel and waited for about 1-2 hours.
You can remove the wax from the fabric using a conventional machine that we use in everyday life. This method is used in the presence of weak pollution. The washing mode must be selected based on the type of material.
Furniture
Quite often, when using candles, drops of wax fall on the furniture. You can remove the stain from the surface in the following ways:
- Use of hydrogen peroxide;
- The use of detergent for dishes;
- alcohol treatment;
- Application of ice.
If you intend to clean furniture made of expensive materials, then it is best to use special products to remove wax stains from soft surfaces. Such options are quite convenient to use at home. You can buy funds at any hardware store, the cost of them is small.

Carpet cleaning
If the wax gets on the carpet, you can remove it in several proven ways. The most common method is to use cold. An ice cube should be applied to the contaminated area. It is necessary to wait some time for the paraffin to become solid. Using a plastic spatula or a special spatula, pieces of paraffin are removed from the carpet. It is best to remove small residues with a vacuum cleaner.
The opposite method is the use of heat.
To remove paraffin residues from the floor, previously large pieces are removed with a knife (only with the blunt side) or with a spatula. A piece of thick cardboard is laid on the remaining contamination. Then you need to run a hot iron over the surface. In the process, the paraffin begins to melt and stick to the paper. It is worth noting that this method is best used if the surface of the carpet has previously been treated with sulfuric acid.
Wax removal after depilation
It often happens that after depilation, cosmetic wax residues are present on the skin and even on the hair. To solve such problems, you need to use proven effective methods. To begin with, it is worth saying that when buying a mixture for depilation, napkins are included in the kit.
Their base is impregnated with a special compound that quickly removes wax residues from both skin and hair.
Another good and safe way – using vegetable or olive oil. Soak a cotton pad with the composition, and then wipe the area where there are wax residues. Thanks to the use of oils, you can not only get rid of frozen marks, but also soothe irritated skin.
Oily creams are used to remove wax, which are present in almost every woman's cosmetic bag. The composition will not only help to wash the skin after depilation, but also moisturize it.
It is worth noting that the use of a greasy cream prevents irritation. Apply the product in a thick layer.
In addition, special cosmetic formulations will help to cleanse the skin of wax. These can be lotions or sprays that are used for daily care.
