A muton fur coat is considered a very wear-resistant product, which is distinguished by its durability and excellent quality. Therefore, during the operation, you will often encounter the need to clean this chic fur product. Of course, the easiest option would be to take the fur coat to the dry cleaner. However, this is not always a good option: sometimes we do not have enough time for this, and we need to clean the product very urgently.

In addition, the harsh cleaners used by some dry cleaners can adversely affect the product, shortening its life. Therefore, it is worth trying to remove traces of dirt and socks at home. Cleaning a muton fur coat at home is not at all difficult. There are many different ways and recipes for this, which we will now dwell on in more detail.

Cleaning Options

To clean a muton fur coat at home, you can resort to three different cleaning methods:

  1. Dry.
  2. Wet.
  3. Using various chemicals.

If your fur product has not been worn for too long, has not yet had time to become especially dirty, but is only a little dusty and crumpled in the closet, then it will be enough just to freshen it up a bit. You can do this in the following way:

  • Take the fur coat out of the closet and shake it well so that the fur straightens out well. If the product is heavy enough, you can hang it on a coat hanger and lightly knock it out with a carpet cracker.
  • Next, you need to take a regular vacuum cleaner with a cleaning nozzle. The nozzle must first be properly cleaned so that the dust from it does not pass to the fur product, contaminating it even more. The power of the vacuum cleaner during cleaning should be minimal.
  • If during cleaning the fur on the product has become slightly disheveled, it must be combed with a regular clothes brush.

With this method, even a light thing can be cleaned of dust.

Dry way

This cleaning option can be used in situations where there are no grease stains on the fur coat. The procedure will be as follows:

  1. It is necessary to hang a fur coat on a coat hanger and wait for the dirt on the product to dry completely.
  2. Using a fur brush, we comb those areas where there is dried dirt. You need to move the brush in the direction of hair growth, and the movements should be smooth and light.
  3. Carefully comb the fur and check that there is no dust on it.

As you can see, dry cleaning is very easy. You can carry out such a procedure regularly, because it does not spoil the fur, and the fur coat will always look like new.

wet way

To perform wet cleaning, the fur coat must first be cleaned of dust, for this it is enough to knock it out lightly. After that, you need to hang the fur product on a coat hanger and place it over the bath.

In a basin, you need to dilute washing powder in water. We take a brush for clothes, dip into the resulting solution and clean the product. After that, you need to pour clean water into the basin, wash the brush properly and gradually wash off the foam from the product using the same brush. Water should be changed frequently.

It is better to leave a clean fur coat over the bath for a day so that all the water is properly glass. Then you can dry it in any room that is well ventilated.
