Female representatives often experience a feeling of discomfort when unwanted body hair appears. The machine helps to cope with it only for a few days. Fortunately, today there are products and procedures that will help you get rid of unwanted hair for two or more weeks. One of the long-term solutions to this problem is bioepilation.

What it is?

In the modern world, they have not yet come up with a means for completely getting rid of hair, but along with this, such a procedure as bioepilation has become widespread. Many people do not see the difference in such similar concepts as depilation and epilation. Both of these procedures are aimed at getting rid of hair in various parts of the body (epilation of the face, legs, arms, buttocks, upper lip, mustache). Their difference lies in the fact that in the first case, the hair follicle is exposed to a destructive effect, while in the second case, the effect occurs directly on the hair itself, which helps to remove it from the root and maintain the effect for a longer period (up to 3-4 weeks).

Under bioepilation understand the destruction of unwanted hair using environmental products (wax or sugar).

wax

Waxing refers to hair removal using wax. Wax-based products are used both in cold, low-temperature and hot conditions. Suitable for use both at home and in salons. Cosmetics are a prominent representative of wax bioepilation products. Lycon. Why Lycon?

  • Does not contain preservatives, emulsifiers, artificial flavors
  • Tested in laboratories, and then on volunteers (no animals are used);
  • Based on family recipes (a unique combination and processing of raw materials);
  • For manufacturing, components are assembled in an ecologically clean region of Lombardy;
  • Thermal water, mud from Lake Constance and vegetable oils are used in the production.

Varieties

There are several variations of this procedure. First of all, wax products for hair removal differ in their structure and are divided into solid ones - requiring additional devices for heating, applicable for hot waxing; and soft - immediately ready for use, used for cold waxing. Wax is also usually divided by temperature into:

  • Hot. Most often found and used in salon or clinical settings. A heating apparatus is required (to a temperature of approximately 60 ° C). Suitable for painless and effective removal of coarse hair on any part of the body
  • Warm. Most often produced in the form of cartridges. For melting, you need a wax melter. Due to its shape, it is suitable for epilation of large straight areas (arms and legs).It is considered more painful in comparison with hot.
  • Cold. Most often used at home. Available in the form of strips that must be rubbed in your hands. There are variations of sets for different parts of the body.

Procedure

Make sure the hair length reaches 5 millimeters. Otherwise, the tool will not be able to capture them, and the session will be unpleasant and ineffective. The epilation procedure itself takes, on average, about half an hour. The time period depends on the number of treated areas, their local location, hair density and your professionalism or the professionalism of the person who provides you with this service. When waxing, it is necessary to follow the correct procedure, namely:

  1. Decontaminate and degrease the area.
  2. Apply wax or special wax strips (cold wax).
  3. In the direction opposite to the direction of hair growth, pull the strip sharply.
  4. Cleanse the skin of wax residues.
  5. Disinfect again.
  6. Apply a moisturizing or soothing lotion.

Sugaring

Sugaring is an alternative type of bioepilation. Hair removal occurs using a special sugar paste (a mixture of sugar, water and lemon juice). This paste can be purchased ready-made in stores (the price varies depending on the manufacturing technique) or you can prepare your own shugaring agent at home.It must be borne in mind that cheap ready-made shugaring mixes presented on store shelves are most often made from synthetic resin, fragrances, preservatives and other artificial substances, and those made from natural ingredients will have a higher cost than those mentioned earlier.

Due to the easy way of its preparation, shugaring is considered the most convenient and common type of hair removal for the home.

The key difference between sugaring and waxing is the direction of movement when getting rid of hair (using wax - against hair growth, using sugar - according to growth).

Pasta Recipes

Before bioepilation, it is necessary to prepare a special sugar mass (paste). Homemade caramel mixture is natural, hypoallergenic and is in no way inferior in quality and effectiveness to ready-made shugaring mixtures purchased in stores. Moreover, the preparation of this mass does not take much time and will not hit your wallet. To make it you will need:

  • A kilogram of granulated sugar;
  • 90 milliliters of pure water;
  • Approximately 80 milliliters of fresh lemon juice.

All ingredients must be mixed, then pour into a container and cook over low heat for about 25 minutes. To avoid burning, the pasta is often stirred. After the specified time, the ladle is removed from the fire, and the finished product is poured into the prepared container. The mixture should have a bright amber hue and should not contain any grains of sugar. Everything, on this caramel mass for shugaring is done, it must be cooled for 3-4 hours.

The ready-to-use mixture has a thick, astringent consistency that easily forms into a ball.The temperature should not be high. When using a mixture of liquid consistency, it is necessary to use fabric or paper strips.

Conducting principle

Women often resort to shugaring at home. Before carrying out this procedure, it is necessary to apply a little mixture on the inside of the elbow and wait about half an hour. If no allergic reactions followed, then you can proceed to the procedure itself, otherwise, epilation should be abandoned. The resulting sugar paste is used once. Please note that the length of the hair must reach 5 millimeters. When carrying out sugar hair removal, the same machinations are observed as with waxing, namely:

  • Cleanse the skin with an antiseptic or wash with soap;
  • Get wet with a towel;
  • Apply powder or talc (for drying);
  • From the total mass (not hot, so as not to get burned), separate a part and make a ball the size of a palm;
  • Apply sugar paste along the hairline (attach a ball and press);
  • In the direction of hair growth, remove the caramel mass with a sharp movement (it is better to pull in a horizontal direction, this reduces pain);
  • With an oil solution or water without adding soap, remove the remaining sugar from the skin;
  • Disinfect again.
  • Apply moisturizing and soothing cream / lotion / serum (you can use a product to slow down hair growth).

Pros and cons of the procedure

The main advantages of the bioepilation procedure with sugar paste and wax, thanks to which they have gained their wide distribution and popularity, include:

  • Low cost;
  • Availability of products for cooking (in the case of shugaring);
  • The ability to make it at home (in the case of shugaring);
  • Quality hair removal
  • Long-lasting result (up to 3 weeks);
  • Possibility of independent epilation;
  • Impossibility of getting burns;
  • Minimum contraindications;
  • Natural composition.

Like any process, bioepilation using sugar mass or wax also has its drawbacks:

  • Pain during the procedure;
  • Risk of ingrown hairs;
  • Short-term result (less than a month);
  • The need to repeat the procedure;
  • To save the effect, the refusal to use the machine;
  • Difficulty in self-hair removal of the deep bikini area and buttocks;
  • The need to grow long hairs.

Contraindications

There are certain circumstances in which epilation should be avoided or carried out with great care. These phenomena include:

  • herpes disease;
  • Impetigo disease;
  • Cancer formations;
  • warts;
  • Psoriasis;
  • Heart diseases;
  • Vitamin A intake;

  • Diseases of the cardiovascular system (the use of medications that thin the lymph);
  • Stress;
  • Pregnancy for more than 5 months (pain threshold increases);
  • Violation in the processes of blood clotting.

Basic recommendations for skin preparation and aftercare

Due to the possibility of application at home, sugar and wax depilation will always be highly popular among consumers. But it is worth noting that there are certain recommendations for preparing the skin for bioepilation, namely:

  • Cleanse and dry the skin before the procedure;
  • Use talc. It helps in the adhesion of the hairline and the drug;
  • The use of warm preparations for hair removal.

Also, the correctness of skin care after shugaring or wax bioepilation is no less important than its preparation for these processes. Key recommendations to keep in mind:

  • Remove the remnants of the drug with an oil solution;
  • Apply a healing or soothing agent;
  • Refuse to visit places such as baths, saunas, a swimming pool, a solarium and massage rooms (during the day);
  • Refuse to use scrubs and peels and other products with a similar purpose;
  • Refuse to use cosmetic preparations containing alcohol.

Following these skin care tips both before and after the epilation process will help you keep your body soft and smooth for as long as possible.

Reviews

Many women write about the pronounced advantages of bioepilation. Most often, there are such positive aspects as cost, availability, efficiency, the ability to independently carry out all the necessary fraud.Along with this, almost every review also mentions the negative aspects, namely: the pain experienced by them during bioepilation, the inconvenience in growing hairs to the required length, the possibility of bruising and ingrown hairs (if the procedure is carried out incorrectly).

To reduce discomfort during epilation, you can use the following tips:

  • The use of warm rather than cold wax and sugar formulations;
  • Refuse epilation during menstruation;
  • Take painkillers;
  • Carry out this procedure in the afternoon;
  • Get rid of the expectation of pain.

Despite the fact that at the moment it is impossible to permanently get rid of unwanted hair, bioepilation is a procedure that has brought joy to many women and has become a reliable assistant for them in maintaining long-term softness and smoothness of the skin.
