How to wash the multicooker from fat?
A multicooker is the dream of every housewife. In order for this device to continue to serve you as long as possible, you need to properly care for it. But few people think about it before the breakdown of technology.
Peculiarities
A multicooker is a modern device for quick and tasty cooking. But like all household appliances, it requires special care, without which it will quickly become unusable.
Multicooker device:
- Frame. Mainly made of steel and plastic. It is the basis for subsequent attachments. Designed for thermal insulation;
- The bowl is a container for laying products, consisting of a non-stick material;
- Lid for closing food while cooking;
- Ten - a device for heating products;
- The temperature sensor is an indication of the temperature of the food;
- Pressure meter;
- Control block. Its functions include regulation of all multicooker modes (switching on, off, maintaining the required temperature);
- A moisture trap that collects condensate.
The non-stick coating of the bowl is Teflon and ceramic.
Wash rules
When releasing a multicooker, the manufacturer suggests that you first familiarize yourself with the rules for caring for it:
- The first wash of the device should take place immediately after purchase.To do this, you need a soft cloth (sponge) and warm water. If you find unpleasant odors, use dishwashing detergents or folk remedies;
- The multicooker should be cleaned after each use. It is recommended to remove fat from all elements included in the design of the mechanism;
- It is forbidden to use rough cleaning methods (hard brushes and cloths). Cleaning from the inside is also done with soft materials.
Cleaning the bowl and bottom
Washing the bowl and bottom requires care. Detergents that do not have abrasive properties are used. Both the inner layer of the container and the outer one, which is attached to the heating component, are wiped with a soft cloth. Depending on the type of bowl cover, the sink is significantly different.
Dry the surface of the walls with a soft, absorbent towel to prevent mildew.
Recommendations for removing grease from a Teflon bowl:
- A tandem of soft tissue (microfiber) and neutral gel (kitchen soap) is used;
- To remove hardened contaminants, a spatula (silicone or wooden) is used;
- To remove odors, apply drops of lemon juice;
- Alternate use of cold and hot water is not allowed.
Tips for cleaning ceramic bowl:
- Persistent pollution is pre-soaked with warm water with the addition of a gel-like agent;
- Cleaning must be done with care and without sudden movements, avoiding the appearance of chips and cracks;
- The use of a dishwasher is not permitted. It is recommended to manually clean the surface without the use of alkalis and acids.
- Ceramics in its composition is easily subjected to mechanical damage, so you can not knock on it and scrape it with iron tools.
Removing burnt fat inside the multicooker is a rather problematic task. To wash the bowl from this type of pollution, you first need to soak it in warm water with dishwashing gel for 30 minutes.
Before inserting the bowl into the appliance, be sure to check the bottom. If oil and fat remain on it, the next cooking will cause the food to burn and give off a foul odor.
To remove grease stains, baking soda will help, which is applied to a damp cloth and wipe the bottom.
Steam valve and moisture trap
The function of the steam valve is to release steam. The valve opening must be clean. This will not allow milk and porridge to "run away". You need to choose a cleanser only degreasing. As it gets dirty, just rinse it under running water, after treating it with a soapy sponge.
The moisture trap is designed to collect moisture and steam. After each cycle of work, it must be washed under running water.
Housing and cover
When cleaning the case with a soapy solution, care must be taken to ensure that water does not penetrate inside. In case of contact, dry it thoroughly with a hair dryer. In this situation, you can not turn on the multicooker in the mains for 2-3 days, otherwise the device will become unusable. Cleaning is carried out after every three cooking in the appliance.
To clean the lid, you must first remove it from the multicooker, then rinse with dishwashing detergent and wipe with a cotton cloth. Then it is wiped dry and attached in place.
The lid, which is not removed from the multicooker, is cleaned in a different way - pour 250 g of water inside, add a slice of lemon and turn on the steam cooking mode for 15-20 minutes.To remove greasy deposits from the lid, a folk recipe is used using laundry soap.
Work algorithm:
- Rub the sponge with soap and gently apply the foam to the lid. Be careful not to get water on the inside of the multicooker.
- As soon as the fat begins to lag behind, wash off the greasy coating with a soft cloth.
- If the lid design includes rubber parts, then food debris can also accumulate under them. Accumulated fat in such places can be removed with cotton swabs or toothpicks.
Heating element
Ten is the main element in cooking. If you treat this part carelessly, brown spots may form on it. They are mainly formed when food particles get in. It must not be washed with detergents or soaps.
If grease stains are found on the heating element, grease solvents with sprayers are used. After using them, be sure to dry the device for at least 12 hours.
Choice of detergents
To clean kitchen appliances, only some detergents are allowed:
- Dishwashing liquid with a neutral pH balance;
- Cloth napkins with special impregnation;
- Soap liquid.
Helpful Hints
At home, unpleasant odors are neutralized in several ways:
- The use of citric acid. Half a dessert spoon of citric acid is dissolved in 250 ml of water and the steaming mode is turned on for 10-15 minutes;
- Airing. First you need to remove the removable elements of the multicooker and place them in a room where there is especially good air circulation or on the street, a balcony. After a while, the smells will dissipate;
- Vinegar. Strong odors will go away if you wipe the sides of the bowl with a soft cloth dampened with a 9% vinegar solution.The smell of vinegar will evaporate within five hours.
- Coffee beans are also helpful in eliminating pungent odors. It is enough just to put the grains in the bowl for 24 hours.
- A mixture of salt and soda (1: 1) is poured onto a cloth (folded in the form of a bag) and placed in a closed device for 12 hours. These components perfectly absorb foreign odors.
- Activated charcoal is also used for this purpose. Application - similar to the previous one. The number of tablets should be at least 10 pieces. If the odors are not gone, then increase the dose.
If the appliance is used incorrectly, it may happen that food from the multicooker starts to flow out.
The reasons:
- The cooking mode for this dish is set incorrectly;
- The lid is not tightly closed;
- More food has been packed than necessary;
- Malfunction of the temperature sensor or the control unit as a whole.
Solutions:
- Disconnect the device from the mains, disassemble and wipe the heating element with a soft brush;
- Gently wipe the bottom of the bowl with a soft cloth;
- It is allowed to assemble all the components in the multicooker kit only after they have completely dried.
- If burnt food is found, thoroughly wash the multicooker.
- To update the non-stick coating, lubricate the walls of the bowl with sunflower oil (1 time in 3 weeks).
