In case the pollution is strong and rather old, a potato decoction will help you. It is able to remove not only greasy traces, but also other stains. To do this, boil the potatoes, wait until the water cools down and immerse the object in it. After a certain period of time, remove the product from the decoction and wash it with detergent, then rinse and wipe.

Rock crystal is a natural natural material. It is sufficiently resistant to chemical and mechanical stress. It is not afraid of direct sunlight and contact with cleaning solutions, for this reason the care of this mountain mineral is simple. It is recommended to wash rock crystal with a soft sponge in a solution of liquid detergent. Then rinse under cold running water and dry with a soft cloth.
Artificial crystal is considered especially beautiful, it is commonly called Czech and Bohemian glass. Despite the fact that Czech glassware looks fragile and thin, it is absolutely undemanding to care methods. It can be washed both by hand and in the dishwasher.
But there are exceptions - these are products with a non-standard shape and gilded painting, they are washed only by hand in a warm washing solution.
One of the most suitable folk methods for washing Czech glass is as follows: 2 tablespoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of vinegar are added to 1 liter of water. This composition will give a radiant shine.
If the crystal product has become cloudy, a solution of warm soapy water mixed with blue will come to the rescue. If the decanter or jug with a narrow neck is cloudy, it is recommended to use a thick mixture of soda and peas. It is poured into a vessel and shaken thoroughly, then washed with water.
It happens that products become cloudy from the fact that too hot water was used to wash them. In this situation, a solution of 0.5 cups of vinegar and 1 cup of water will help out.
Yellowed crystal can be cleaned with a mixture of chalk and half a spoonful of blue. With this mixture, you need to treat the surface of objects well. A bluish tint may remain on the walls of the product, which can be easily removed with a woolen cloth.
Eliminate white, greenish or dark brown plaque on the bottom of the crystal products can be a variety of methods. Let's look at them below:
- A solution of acetic acid and salt. To obtain this solution, add half a tablespoon of salt and a tablespoon of vinegar to a liter of water. Dishes are soaked in it for a quarter of an hour.
- A mixture of 3-4 tablespoons of salt and soda is poured into the product for 30 minutes.
- Also a proven and original method is the use of carbonated drinks as a cleansing composition, for example, Coca-Cola.
- Mix baking soda and chopped pieces of newspaper. Shake the vessel every half hour until the plaque disappears.
- Pour a few tablespoons of rice and soda into crystal objects, fill with water and mix. The baking soda will remove the buildup and the rice will absorb all the bad smell.
- Add one aspirin to water and leave overnight. During this time, pollution will disappear.
- Existing plaque can be grated with potato peel.
- You can get rid of greenish and brown marks on a vase or jug using coarse salt. In this case, the coating will not deteriorate, because the salt crystals from the water will smooth out.
Care
Crystal glassware should be stored separately from others. It is best to use a box for storage, after wrapping the products with cling film. It is never necessary to insert objects into each other, as when removing them there is a risk of cracking.
In dishes made of such material, each cooked dish will look especially tasty and attractive. But with the frequent use of salad bowls and wine glasses, their appearance becomes less presentable, the shine disappears. Caring for such items is an important task for housewives. If you follow simple recommendations, it is possible to extend the life of crystal products:
- When cleaning and washing the crystal, it is necessary to lay a towel, a thick cloth or a rubber mat on the bottom of the sink.
- Use a soft sponge to avoid scratches.
- Water should be necessarily slightly warm or cool.
- It is recommended to rinse the dishes at the same temperature as during washing.
- No need to put such dishes in the oven or oven.
- After the water drains from the product, it must be wiped dry with a soft cloth.
- You should never use hot water to clean crystal: otherwise, cracks will appear, the material will become dull and may crack after a certain time.
- Thin dishes are best washed by hand.
- It is strictly forbidden to use abrasive products.
- It is not recommended to use soda ash, as it scratches the coating and spoils the shine of objects.
- Soap should also not be used as a crystal cleaner. It leaves a film on the surface, due to which, again, the shine disappears.
If you decide to use a dishwasher, do not forget about temperature fluctuations. Crystal tableware contains lead or barium: you can read about this on the product packaging. Washing in the dishwasher can only withstand barium-based crystal. Lead comes into contact with cleaning solutions, for this reason the integrity of the products will be problematic.
The dishwasher usually uses abrasive products, so for crystal objects, it is necessary to choose delicate and careful compositions. The delicate mode is also set.
With proper and competent care, crystal will delight the hosts and guests with its splendor for a long time.
