Stainless steel cookware is very popular, however, its quality and safety have a downside. Like any widely used thing, a stainless pan gets dirty very easily, and its contamination is very diverse. Most often, perhaps, there is such a serious “enemy” as soot, but it can also be defeated if you know how.

Kitchen utensils made of stainless steel are always convenient, it is easy enough to store and care for them; What is important, the dishes prepared in it are invariably tasty and healthy. Special additives make stainless steel resistant to most negative influences, such as harmful radiation, chemical corrosion and even high temperatures.

The key element of molecular protection (the thinnest film of oxides) is constantly updated, it maintains itself in good condition. The problem is that the burnt a stainless steel pan must be cleaned as soon as possible, before a coating of oils, fats and scale deteriorates its quality.

The main means suitable for this case are acids and liquids with their presence, which are specially designed to wash surfaces in the kitchen. The acid reacts even with stubborn fat and effectively removes it, no matter how long the stain persists.

Speaking about drug brands, it should be noted that "Chister" cheaper than all the others, however, its effectiveness is not too great. Therefore, if you are faced with any serious pollution, this remedy should be discarded. "Bugs Shumanit" contains potent components, cleans very well, the cost is moderate. Finally, Oven Cleaner more expensive than both, does not include hazardous substances and does not have a bad smell, works quite well.

To get rid of soot, you should apply any of these preparations to steel, hold for 10 minutes and thoroughly rinse the dirty place with water. Do not forget that all industrial compounds require careful handling: use rubber gloves and follow all precautions prescribed by the instructions. Work only in rooms with a decent level of ventilation, otherwise the risk will be too great!

Usage "Whites" - also a good option, and affordable and for financial reasons.A single tablespoon is enough to remove all the dirt from most pans (except the largest ones). The method of work is simple: fill dirty dishes with water, boil for ½ hour; Removing it with a sponge reliably helps to get rid of the remnants of the burn.

For reliability, the cleaned pan is additionally boiled already in clean water in order to destroy the smell and residual deposits of "Whiteness", which can be toxic.

If jam is burnt in the pan, never scrape it with forks, knives or other sharp objects, this will inevitably leave scratches. Special sprays for cleaning stoves and ovens perfectly help to eliminate the problem.

For your information: such products work very well not only with steel, but also with enameled dishes. Since the composition of the preparations contains alkali, carry out all manipulations only with rubber gloves, and economic, and not in medical - they are not reliable enough.

The burnt bottom of the pan is cleaned using activated charcoal: several tablets are crushed and diluted in a small amount of water so that a kind of slurry appears. A half-hour passive treatment will then allow you to remove all carbon deposits with a soft sponge or dishcloth.

Ways to clean at home

If there are no store-bought preparations and even the opportunity to buy them, you can still clean the pan, improvised tools help a lot with this. The simplest of them is table salt, which is used as follows:

  • Fill the container with clean cold water and leave for some time.
  • Water is poured out, 2-4 tablespoons of salt are poured onto the bottom.
  • After waiting 120-180 minutes, they remove all carbon deposits with an ordinary sponge, this can be done without the slightest effort.

Be careful! Sometimes contact of salt with stainless steels can cause dark spots and corrosion, as the protective layer is broken.

An alternative, and completely safe for metal, is the use of vinegar, it removes carbon deposits both inside and out equally effectively, quickly. The simplest technique is that the pan is simply filled with undiluted acetic acid for a couple of hours, after which the liquid is poured out, and the dishes are thoroughly washed with the usual means. You can enhance the activity of the drug by pouring a small amount (about 50 g) of vinegar into water, in which ½ of a standard bar of laundry soap is previously dissolved. The pot will have to boil for 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how badly it has burned.

Please note that such boiling creates a lot of toxic fumes and you need to work under a hood or with windows constantly open. And even in this case, it is not recommended to be in the kitchen during this procedure.

Even exceptionally strong pollution helps to wipe off citric acid, it also copes with limescale. First, the water is boiled (pouring it in such a way that the cinder is guaranteed to be blocked, but not higher). 60 g of powder is added to boiling boiling water and the gas is not reduced in the next ¼ hour; if the stain is very low or at the bottom, make sure that all the water does not boil away, add more if necessary. Complete cleaning by draining the liquid and removing the remaining dirt with a sponge. And if you wet a sponge in the same acid, you can easily remove the burnt places from the bottom.

Hot water is poured into a saucepan, a certain amount of soapy water is added and mixed until completely homogeneous. The resulting mixture must be boiled and left to boil for up to 20 minutes. The final procedure, as always, is cleaning with a sponge.

There are times when such efforts come to nothing. The solution to the problem is to dissolve 1/3 of a grated bar of laundry soap in 4 liters of boiling water, add 30 g of PVA glue and boil the mixture of these reagents for at least 30 minutes.

strongly rooted baking soda also removes pollution well. Dirty dishes are placed in a deeper container, where soda solution is poured (1 standard pack for 5 or 6 liters of clean water). The edge of the liquid should be 20-30 mm higher than the pan being cleaned. A large container will be a fixture for a water bath for 120 minutes; then cool the pan and rinse with water to remove any remaining dirt and soda.

A non-standard home remedy that helps bring dishes to a shine is no worse than the listed options - this is whey. The bottom of the burnt container is poured with it, covering the soot spots by 10-20 mm, and kept in this form for a day. The pan from which this solution is poured will become completely clean after washing in clean warm water with a sponge.

  • Whether you're tackling stains or just cleaning up leftover food, don't forget to dry your pot with a clean cloth. When it dries out in the open and even in a drying cabinet, there is a risk of new stains. In order for the top layer to always be clean, even and smooth, it is recommended to rub the dirt pointwise, and not drive the rag in a circle. Raw potatoes help make dishes shiny: rub the metal with the open sides of its slices, and then it will definitely sparkle under the sun or electric rays.
  • Of the "folk" remedies, coffee grounds provide excellent help in cleaning steel pans. It is collected on the surface of a sponge made of foam rubber and all dirty places are wiped off. The same composition helps to clean up cutlery and bowls.
  • A formidable opponent of cleanliness in the kitchen is milk; the “Whiteness” already mentioned above helps to cope with the spots left by him. If you don't want to risk it, just soak the burnt spots in boiling water, add a fair amount of baking soda, and leave for 8-12 hours. After such treatment, the stains will most likely be destroyed, and all that remains for you is just to remove them mechanically. If, as a result of cleaning with table salt or other means, the steel has darkened, you need to boil water in it for ½ hour with an onion head cut into slices, then the appearance will return to normal. The same method helps to eliminate both soot and deposits that appear during normal use.
  • If you have on hand "Coca Cola" or another carbonated drink, boiling it (about 20 minutes) can remove soot spots no worse than proprietary store formulations. Remember: pour any bulk product, whether industrial or domestic, more carefully, it should not get anywhere other than contaminated places!

Never wash hot steel dishes, they must cool down; hurrying, you can ruin valuable kitchen utensils irrevocably.

If it seems that the stainless steel pan has faded after washing, wipe it with a soft cloth soaked in vinegar, and the result will not be long in coming.
