Hiking, hunting, fishing - all these activities allow you to communicate with nature and enjoy its delights. However, it is very important to provide reasonable comfort even when hiking in uninhabited areas. And the stove for the camping bath plays a significant role here.

Basic formats

Two devices are very popular - "Coast" and "Poshekhonka". All stoves for a tourist bath, one way or another, belong to one of these two versions.

Poshekhonka is a particularly compact stove. Its dimensions are 0.3x0.3x0.5 m, weight is 8-9 kg, depending on the nuances of the design. For the manufacture of "Poshekhonok" use sheets of stainless steel with a thickness of 0.08 cm.

This design is completely disassembled. You can shoot:

  • legs;
  • insulating screens;
  • furnace door.

After dismantling, all these elements are placed inside the stove. The product is completed with a pipe with two elbows with a total length of 1.5 m. Such a device guarantees the ease of installing the pipe in any convenient place in the bath. Although there is no heater here, there is a flat surface on top, on which stones also lie well. The design feature is an air intake, thanks to which firewood can burn for a long time - up to 6 hours in a row.The side shields not only prevent accidental contact, but also help improve heat transfer.

The design of the "Coast" is noticeably different from the "Poshekhonka". In this embodiment, the combustion chamber is thicker, and there is a characteristic bevel in it from below. And also thanks to the monolithic casing, effective containment of the carried away heat is guaranteed. In the "Coast" lay from 20 to 25 kg of stone.

The removable door has a hole that allows you to vary the rate of air supply. This solution, coupled with the absence of hinges, made the oven more convenient. In some modifications, there may be a removable water tank with a volume of 12 liters. Both the legs and the tube can be detached. They can easily be put away in a case.

The top of the "Berega" firebox is equipped with a spark arrester. This device ensures the safe operation of the stove. The total weight of all components reaches 11 kg, which is very small compared to other models.

Folding camp hearths can heat the bath to 80 or 100 degrees in a maximum of 40 minutes, achieving good steam. But not all people prefer to buy ready-made devices - many people prefer what they do with their own hands.

Technologies and methods

A homemade stove for a camping bath can be made without any problems. The simplest version of this design is based on the use of gratings made of a thick steel bar or a welded product similar to a taganok. In this case, the assembly is carried out as follows:

  • lay flat stones at the base;
  • allocate among them space for the firebox;
  • put a grate or rods;
  • cover them with pebbles.

In this case, for a mobile oven come in handy:

  • unnecessary steel boxes;
  • parts of masonry mesh;
  • pipe sections.

All steel frames are filled with stones of suitable size.Then they only need to be laid on the fire. This solution is beneficial because:

  • maintaining cleanliness;
  • minimal risk of shedding stones;
  • reusability;
  • preparation speed;
  • fast warm-up.

But when preparing the simplest impromptu oven, certain problems are often encountered. It is quite difficult to choose the right building material. Stones for laying in the oven must be perfectly even and flat, without a single crack. It is necessary to lay smooth and heavy stones in the heater. Basalt and pebbles are best suited.

A stove made in this way with your own hands from metal will have to be placed at a short distance from the walls of the camping bath. This will eliminate the burning of the canopy. It is possible to prevent the spread of ashes and ashes around the tent by digging the hearth to a shallow depth. In winter, the bottom is covered with spruce branches or special heat-protective mats. When placing the stove in a camping bath, you need to choose a place with a flat and solid base, close to the water source and away from the entrance.

What options are available?

It is worth recalling that in any case, the camp stove needs to be assembled strictly according to the checked drawings. Otherwise, the safety of its use cannot be guaranteed. Particular attention when building stoves from scratch (as well as when choosing ready-made versions) should be given to the execution of the chimney. It directly affects the same safety of structures and the efficiency of the entire hearth as a whole.

A do-it-yourself oven saves money and is somewhat lighter than prefabricated structures. Shop options are quite expensive (fee for solid stainless steel), but they fully meet the needs of travelers.

Important: experts in the tourism business believe that finished products will be useful mainly to genuine fans of hikes made in different seasons. For everyone else, it is more profitable and practical to make a hearth for a tent bath with your own hands. But first you need to figure out whether it will be drowned in black or white.

There is at all original version - in it hot air is supplied through a long pipe. The scheme is this: a fire is lit in a depression in the relief, and a tent is set up higher - where you can stretch the pipe itself. The opposite end is brought closer to the fire, and air is naturally drawn in there. This is also a kind of metal furnace, albeit very conditionally. However, in most cases, this term means a completely different thing.

A fairly simple version of a homemade hearth would be a structure made of a profiled pipe. Its dimensions are 0.2x0.2 m, while the length of the section will need 0.45 m. It makes no sense to make a wall thinner than 0.06 cm, because it will quickly burn out. For inserting firewood, a pipe with a diameter of 0.16 m is enough. Grid-irons can be replaced with semi-circular perforated sheets.

Popular branded models and their characteristics

Everything that is done with one's own hands is quite “weighty”. In industrial conditions, heat-resistant stainless steel is used for camping baths. Its layer varies from 0.5 to 0.8 mm. Most technologists prefer AISI 430 alloy. However, stainless steel welding is very difficult, and much thicker structural metal is used at home. This circumstance greatly increases the mass of finished products (up to 10-15 kg), and therefore, with rare exceptions, they are suitable only for autotourists.

As for lighter factory designs, many consider products to be the best among them. Poshehon Star. "Poshekhonka Malaya" with an internal volume of 15 liters weighs 3.5 kg, and three times more voluminous "Poshekhonka Big" will pull 6.5 kg. In all models, including the "Medium", the walls are 0.05 cm thick, and the chimneys are 0.01 cm thinner.

According to the information from the manufacturer, the stoves of the Poshekhonka series are made of alloyed, heat-resistant and non-magnetizing alloy AISI304. The official warranty will be 1 year, while the company description mentions that the actual service life is 5 years or more.

Delivery set contains:

  • collapsible chimney;
  • transport bag;
  • metal cutting (very good when mounting the product in a tent).

Depending on the specific modification, continuous burning is guaranteed for 5-10 hours in a row.

But the Free Wind company managed to develop only one variation of the camp stove - Berendey. There is no official information about the steel grade and its layer. However, it is stated that the material does not rust and is resistant to high heat. A reservoir for laying stones is provided.

Without them, in its “pure form”, Berendey weighs 17 kg. Readiness for washing occurs on average 15 minutes after firing firewood. The oven is capable of heating up to 70 cubic meters. m of air at the same time.

The “Bath” stove from the company “Bereg” also deserves attention. It is made of AISI 430 steel (the layer reaches 0.08 cm).

In addition to the hearth itself, buyers will receive:

  • spark extinguisher;
  • removable door;
  • a glass for pumping oxygen;
  • shields from heat rays;
  • supports;
  • chimney circuit.

Stove "Altai" from the company "Teplodar" weighs 14 kg. The company does not mention the brand of steel.But at the same time, she considered it necessary to indicate that it is resistant to heating and contains many alloying additives. Thanks to the high-speed steam generator, there is no need for stones. The average time for the steam room to be ready is from 10 to 20 minutes, since a casing that enhances convection is provided.
