The emergence of style

Avant-garde style in clothes leaves no one indifferent. It is one of the most shocking and controversial trends in the fashion world. The thing is that the avant-garde in clothing is expressed in very unusual and extravagant images. This style is characterized by unusual accessories, bright colors, non-standard forms of clothing and extraordinary hairstyles.

The very word "avant-garde" originated from the French avant-garde, which translates as "vanguard". This word was used for the name of the military troops walking in front, who took the hit and were supposed to destroy the enemy's line of defense.

The history of this bright and extraordinary style does not have an exact date of origin. Fashion historians believe that the avant-garde style of clothing appeared around the sixties of the twentieth century. The pioneer of the avant-garde in Europe was Pierre Cardin, who presented the first collection in this direction to the attention of the general public. Initially, lovers of Cardin's work were wary of such a creation, but a year later, avant-garde-style outfits won great love and recognition around the world.

Peculiarities

The avant-garde trend in fashion breaks all stereotypes and breaks all the boundaries of the usual reality. This style has the following features:

  • Bold color choice. To create outfits, a very wide color palette is used. Very often there are poisonous-acid shades. Bright color can be used not only in clothes and accessories, but also, for example, in hair color.
  • Mix of styles. The avant-garde does not adhere to any established foundations and considers it necessary to embody all the most daring ideas. An avant-garde outfit can combine elements of a romantic orientation and classics, glamor and gothic, which ultimately combines into a completely new look like nothing else.
  • Unusual materials. Avant-garde can be considered both expensive and affordable style. The thing is that the costume can be created from any material. It can be corrugated paper, plastic bottles, matches, coins and many other improvised means. Simultaneously with these materials, more noble ones, such as natural and eco-fur, wool and silk, lace and satin, also appear.
  • Exotic. There are no boundaries for the avant-garde. This style breaks all established stereotypes. Outfits in the avant-garde style are able to strike on the spot with their extravagance.
  • Unusual silhouettes. The use of sharp angles and intricate silhouettes is the most accurate expression of the avant-garde trend. And it's not just about clothes, it's about accessories and hairstyles.

Directions

The avant-garde direction is not expressed unambiguously, but combines three subtypes:

Minimalism

This avant-garde trend is perfect for everyday use. The very name "minimalism" indicates the presence of a minimum of details inherent in the avant-garde. This subtype is characterized by the use of a simple silhouette with a combination of bold color schemes.

Deconstructivism

This direction is characterized by images with pronounced elements of the avant-garde. These can be external seams, the wrong silhouette and asymmetry.

Conceptualism

It is expressed in the absolute individuality of the individual, thereby allowing you to embody the most daring fantasies in your image.

Men's and women's wardrobe items

Dresses for girls and women in avant-garde style are not present in every wardrobe. Not all the fair sex will dare to put on such a suit.

Dresses in the avant-garde style are distinguished by a variety of cuts. It can be a product with oblique seams and raw edges. External seams and asymmetry are not considered a mistake at all, but rather presented as a design idea. Huge sleeves and beveled hem, ridiculous at first glance design elements - all this characterizes the dress in the avant-garde direction.

At the same time, the color of the product can be absolutely anything, ranging from calm monochromatic shades to bright flashy colors. Another element of the avant-garde trend are large patch pockets, which are most often present on the hips.

Skirts are also very different in their non-standard cut. These are products that, like dresses, are endowed with elements characteristic of the avant-garde: oblique seams, unusual cuts and a high waistline. In addition, the length of the skirt can be either too short a mini or an incredible maxi with a voluminous long train. When sewing skirts, they use different fabrics not only in color, but also in texture. Avant-garde skirts are either very restrained, similar to a bag, or extremely frank - translucent.

The avant-garde in men's clothing is not expressed as boldly as in women's.However, this does not prevent men from looking stylish with the help of avant-garde products, and even emphasizing brutality.

At first glance, avant-garde menswear is the usual basic wardrobe of a man. But looking closely, elements that are unique only to avant-garde fashion come to the surface. It can be an ordinary men's jacket, but not buttons, but an unusually wide zipper will serve as a fastener. The cut of the jacket also meets the avant-garde trend: floors of various lengths or a stand-up collar, unusual for this product.

The cut of the trousers is also non-standard, and hypertrophied pockets are present in their design. Classic shirts have no place in the avant-garde direction, they are replaced by products with wide sleeves and voluminous pockets. Similarly, jackets and sweaters are presented.

Color solutions, unlike women's suits, are calm and restrained. The main part of men's avant-garde products is plain.

Layering is a hallmark of the avant-garde look. A long T-shirt and a short jacket are a great avant-garde tandem.

Shoes and accessories

No image can be considered complete without such an important addition as accessories. Moreover, shoes and accessories serve as the finishing touch; it is impossible to imagine any ensemble without them. Avant-garde style expresses the desire for shocking, which means that shoes and accessories should be extremely unusual and even shocking.

Avant-garde shoes are usually ankle boots or semi-boots of bizarre shapes. A characteristic detail inherent in the avant-garde style is a figured heel.In addition, just like clothes, shoes can be made from any material, often a pair of avant-garde shoes looks like something strange and cosmic. But even such non-standard shoes should meet the fashion trends of the season. When choosing shoes, the costume as a whole should be taken into account, because the avant-garde style is a clear concept, and not strange objects put together.

Accessories in an avant-garde look are far from the last place, if not the first! Therefore, their choice should be approached with due attention and all responsibility.

Avant-garde accessories should be unique and attract everyone's attention. That is why they often have an intricate shape, for example, an unusually intertwined necklace or voluminous beads. Metal and plastic can be used to create accessories, and there is nothing surprising here - this is avant-garde! Glasses are also a great accessory. Which, of course, are unusual. They differ in their original shape, different from the usual rounded glasses.

At the forefront, the elements of the decor of the outfit themselves serve as an accessory. These can be large buttons, voluminous zippers, stylish prints and metal inserts. It is worth noting that most of the avant-garde accessories are made by hand. With the help of this technique, you can very accurately bring to life the craziest idea.
