Types of women's and men's hats
A bit of history
The history of the appearance of headdresses is associated with Ancient Egypt, the inhabitants of this country endowed them with mystical qualities.
In addition, the headdress symbolized the wealth and power of its owner and protected the head from the sun in sultry weather conditions. In the Thebes tomb of Egypt, for the first time, an image of a man in a straw hat was recorded in the form of a wall painting.
It is believed that the first hat with brim appeared in ancient Greece, it was called "petasos". In many Greek works of art, the god Hermes is depicted with a pethasos, which notably adorns his face. And since then there has been an opinion that it was from such a model of a hat as a pethasos that the hats that are popular today went.
In the Middle Ages, hats emphasized the social status of their owners. All high-ranking people wore a feather of a pheasant or a rooster on the crown of such a dress, and the guilty wore plucked carcasses of wild birds on it. Ladies wore hats decorated with furs, satin ribbons and precious stones.
A hat is a male or female headdress, consisting of a tulle (the base of the hat that covers the head) and fields that go around the edges of the tulle, usually maintaining a stable shape.
A hat is worn to protect against the weather, but often it has a decorative function, being an integral accessory that complements the image. These hats are made from a variety of materials, such as brocade, satin, drape, wool, velor, velvet, cotton, straw, polyester and others.

Criterias of choice
The choice of hat model depends on many factors.
So, it is preferable for owners of a round face to choose hats that will open the upper part of the face, thereby making the face visually more elongated. But hats-tablets or bowlers or other models of hats that tightly fit the head and cover the forehead will not suit chubby men and women.
On the contrary, owners of an elongated face shape should avoid high hats and other models that open the forehead. Men and women with a square face will wear a low-brimmed hat, but they should avoid such flat-brimmed hats.
A hat should be chosen for various parts of the wardrobe: under a coat, under gloves and a scarf, under a handbag or boots. If the color scheme of clothing is diverse, then the hat should be selected based on the color scheme of accessories. Hat size matters a lot. It should not slide off the head when tilted, and the crown should not be wider than the face.
