Children's knitted scarf
From the beginning of autumn to the middle of spring, a scarf is one of the most sought-after accessories in our climate. It performs two functions at the same time: it covers the neck from the wind and allows you to complement and complete the image. A children's knitted scarf for every mother is a real field for self-expression.
Fashionable styles and models
scarf collar
In everyday life, such a scarf is called a shirt-front. A very functional item! This accessory does not stray when moving, fits snugly around the neck and covers part of the chest and shoulders. Pay attention to the edge of the shirtfront: it can be rounded or square. Usually boys prefer a square version, while girls prefer a softer, rounded one.
The shirtfront can be worn over the head, or it can have a clasp at the back. Clasp types:
- buttons;
- hooks;
- Velcro - Velcro.
If the hooks and Velcro remain inside, then the buttons can be a decorative element and be in the most visible place.
When choosing a scarf-collar, it is worth considering that it is worn under outerwear. Accordingly, it does not have to be combined with a jacket or coat. But with what is worn below - a blouse, a jumper, a bodysuit - there should be harmony. You can have several similar scarves of different colors, or you can get by with one universal one.
With pom-poms
Fluffy wool balls add fun and lightness to knitwear! You can’t hide such a scarf inside, its place is on the neck of the coat. Most often, pompons are located at the ends of the scarf - one at a time or several at once.
The absolute hit of recent seasons are large fur pompoms. They can be purchased at sewing supplies stores or online. The accessory, decorated with a natural fur pompom, looks expensive and stylish.
On a children's scarf, pompoms sewn along the entire length look very elegant. They can be strengthened randomly, or you can lay out some kind of pattern with them.
With the help of pompoms, you can diversify any banal scarf that you have. Choose the right color combination and make your own pom-poms, as shown in the picture:
By the way, tassels look no less original on children's scarves. This option is well suited for both boys and girls.
Knitted sets
The company "hat + scarf" (or maybe even gloves or mittens) is the culmination of the image. A harmonious combination of a headdress and a scarf with each other and with outerwear always attracts the attention of others.
- Toddlers and their mothers love animal-themed accessories. Owl hats, hats with ears (hare, cubs, cats), hats with eyes - the scope for imagination is not limited by anything.
Please note that it is the headdress in this case that is the main focus. The scarf is more modest and only supports the main motive. But it can also be the other way around. Animal scarves look original and exclusive, for example, a cat scarf, a snake scarf, a crocodile or a dachshund. The cap here should be concise so that the image is not overloaded.
- For older children, a knitted set can be close to the adult version.However, an interesting knitting (for example, with “bumps”), bright colors of yarn or an entertaining pattern will definitely emphasize the young age of the owner.
scarf tie
An unusual model of a scarf that is suitable for both adults and children. At one end of such a product, a loop is knitted into which the opposite end is threaded. The accessory turns out to be crossed around the neck, like a tied tie. At the same time - no knots that children do not like so much!
At first glance, this is more of a girl's scarf, although you can find a "boyish" version: it's all about the color, length and possible design of the ends. For kids, on a loop, you can knit an animal muzzle or any other decoration. Such an accessory is quite appropriate to wear not only on the street, but also indoors.
colors
Children's yarn is full of bright colors. The choice of color is limited only by the desire of the child and the compatibility of the color of the scarf with outerwear.
- Girls prefer bright colors - red, yellow, orange, pink. Delicate colors are also great for young ladies, for example, beige, pale blue, dusty pink.
- For boys - blue, brown, green, gray, which, if desired, can be diluted with bright colors.
Material
The more natural fibers in the composition of the material, the better. For children's clothing, this is an almost unshakable rule. The warmest types of yarn:
- angora;
- alpaca;
- merino;
- goat fur.
They are pleasant to the touch and perfectly conduct air, which means they save heat. But a small percentage of synthetics should still be present - this gives the product strength and elasticity. The perfect combination is 80% wool and 20% acrylic.
For demi-season scarves, mercerized cotton is well suited.
How to wear
The simplest and most unpretentious option is to tie a scarf around the neck with loose ends. This is how ordinary scarves are tied so that they perform the main function, i.e. warmed up. The knot on the neck can be hidden by straightening the scarf so that the ends hang on the chest exactly one above the other. Children can tie a knot in the back. If a child goes downhill or plays active games in winter, it is safer to tidy up the ends of the scarf.
A long scarf in the original knit can be wrapped around the neck several times. In this case, one end is near the neck, and the second can be hidden, or left to hang freely. If the length of the product allows, each new turn can be made freer than the previous one - this will add chic to the image. For fixation, you can use a brooch or badge.
An accessory with pom-poms at the ends looks great when tied over a coat, placing a knot on the side. One end remains on the chest, the other - on the back. Another variation: the scarf is applied to the neck, crossed behind, and the ends are thrown over the chest.
A “tie” or “Dutch knot” is tied like this: the scarf is folded in half, and on the chest the ends of the scarf are threaded into the resulting loop. This method is a favorite option for high school boys, "hipsters" and students. For girls, such a knot should be relaxed and lowered so that it looks freer.
How to decorate
You can decorate a children's knitted scarf in many ways.
- For example, sew pompoms, tassels or fringes to the ends of the product. Brushes can be made long and thin, or vice versa, short and fluffy.
- A badge or a brooch on a scarf will be not only an accent, but also a fixing device that will help to keep a complex winding.
- Embroidery or sew-on appliqué at the ends or the scarf fabric will help to keep the style of the image.
- On girlish scarves, you can place thermal rhinestones or beads around the entire panel.
