Knee high boots
Almost every woman in her wardrobe must have at least one pair of knee-length model boots, since they suit absolutely everyone. But we do not even imagine that at the beginning of the last century it was not so relevant. Women's knee-length boots were then unfashionable. Of course, they existed, but they were mostly worn by the military: knee-length leather boots were an integral part of the military uniform.
In addition to military leather boots, there were also rubber ones. They were worn mainly by hunters, fishermen, farmers. It is very convenient and practical: you certainly won’t get wet and dirty your feet in rubber boots.
Women's model knee-length boots came into our everyday life in the late 50s, but they became especially popular with the advent of fashionable mini-skirts. This type of footwear is distinguished by a high shaft that reaches the knee, or slightly below it. As a rule, the bootleg tapers towards the ankle. The shape of the boots to the knees can be both narrow and loose.
What are the styles of boots to the knee:
- No fasteners. For convenience, in such shoes, as a rule, they make a wide bootleg.
- With clasps. Zippers. Or laces. Located inside or behind.
- Various combined types.
Regarding production, it should be said that a variety of materials are used: both natural - leather, suede, shoe drape, felt, shoe velveteen, semi-velvet, shoe cheviot, velor and other materials, as well as various synthetic substitutes.
How to choose
Now the shoe market offers a wide variety of knee-high boots for any season. If you decide to make a purchase, it is worth noting that knee-high boots look beautiful on any legs. Of course, we think about beauty, but first of all, when choosing boots, we think about comfort. Feet should be comfortable. And if we talk about winter shoes, they should also be warm and not get wet.
Now it's winter outside, and when buying winter boots, you need to follow three main parameters: comfort, durability, stability. They should have a thick, rubberized, non-slip sole, a necessarily insulated insole, on fur or on any other insulation. Materials for the manufacture of winter shoes - genuine leather, suede or leather substitute. Do not forget that the sole is stitched. Then the shoes are waterproof and durable, and will withstand the most adverse weather.
What to wear
- with skirts and dresses (consider the shape and length of clothing);
- with trousers and with tight trousers (look especially beautiful with jeans);
- with fur coats, coats and jackets (under the jacket there should be a not very classic model with high heels).
Lovers of shorts should say that they should not be knee-deep. Deep necklines and back slits on dresses do not look very nice with knee-high boots. But even the most well-chosen image can ruin everything with the wrong size, so don't forget about it. Measure your shoes well. Only then the purchase will bring you complete satisfaction!
