But you can give her a second life! How to do it most competently is the main question that a good hostess asks. There are several ways to convert a shirt into a dress.
First way
In order to make an elegant summer dress out of an old men's cotton shirt, we need: the shirt itself, preferably cotton, but any thin "summer" material will do, a wide elastic band to match the future dress, and, of course, neck accessories.
First of all, you need to lay out the shirt on a flat surface and draw a small line from the left to the right shoulder. Along this line, you need to carefully cut off the top of the shirt. Then you need to bend the upper sections of the shirt, securing them with pins. And after stitching along the bottom edge, thereby creating a drawstring. We stretch the elastic into the drawstring, for convenience, you can use a knitting needle or a Chinese stick. The ends of the elastic need to be sewn.
This dress can be worn with a wide belt and country-style summer boots.
Second way
We will need: a large size men's shirt, respectively, sewing accessories. We lay out the shirt on a flat surface and outline 3/4 of the sleeves with chalk, cut off the collar, as shown in the photo. We bend all the places of the cuts and carefully stitch them.A bright edging can be sewn along the edges.

For example, if you want to make an application in the form of a large bright flower, you will need: a piece of cardboard, the fabric from which the application is planned to be made, threads to match the color of the future application.
The manufacturing process is quite simple. Draw a large flower or any kind of application you like on cardboard. Then cut it out, attach it to the fabric and circle it with chalk. Cut out the future application, leaving 5-7 millimeters for the hem, carefully fold the left edges and iron them. Lay the finished appliqué over the patch and sew it on using an invisible hand stitch or machine zigzag.
