Nail design with acrylic powder
Any woman wants to have well-groomed hands with a neat beautiful manicure.
But only a few can boast healthy, strong natural nails. Bad ecology, stress, malnutrition - there are many factors that affect the quality of the nail plate. Fortunately, the modern beauty industry has already come a long way in terms of beautiful manicure. Now it is completely unnecessary to suffer, trying to grow natural nails, if it is possible to build them up or strengthen the nail plate with polymers, one of which is acrylic powder, which will be discussed in our article.
See below for details.
Features and Benefits
Initially, acrylic was used in ... dentistry! With its help, dentists restored teeth. But soon its unique properties were noticed by the masters of the nail industry and acrylic powder began to be used for manicure. Consider its main advantages:
- This is a very durable material, it can be used to strengthen the nail plate and create the desired length of the nail;
- Fairly easy to use;
- The porous structure of acrylic does not prevent the nails from "breathing";
- Acrylic powder helps create an amazing nail design;
- Does not run when applied over gel polish.
A manicure using acrylic powder can be done both classic, without frilly decorations (for everyday wear), and elegant, with original acrylic patterns or stucco molding (for special occasions).
Kinds
- Translucent or matte powder. Most often used to strengthen the nail plate, as well as for building and sculpting;
- Camouflage Powder Natural Beige ideal for hiding nail defects;
- White powder necessary for the formation of a "smile line" when you do a French manicure; also with its help you can create a masterpiece wedding design;
- colored powder has a huge palette of shades and is used for all types of nail design;
- Glitter acrylic powder it looks very catchy and bright on the nails, so you should not decorate all your nails with it at once - except perhaps for some kind of solemn event. For everyday wear, a manicure is suitable, with one or two shiny nails;
- For lovers of club life, there is a wonderful neon powder. When neon lights are turned on in a nightclub, the nails decorated with it begin to glow with a bright light.
Which is better
In order to decide which acrylic powder is right for you, you need to answer the question: what result do you want to achieve with it. So:
- If you are interested in strengthening the nail plate, or if you want to correct the shape or increase the length of the nail, choose a powder with a transparent coating;
- You are worried about irregularities on the surface of the plate, spots, stripes - it means that your choice is camouflage acrylic powder;
- If you want a bright unusual manicure with voluminous patterns or stucco decorations - any colored, shiny or neon powder is suitable for these purposes.
How to do
With the help of acrylic powder, you can, without resorting to the services of a master, independently strengthen your nails at home.
To do this, read the instructions below and follow it strictly step by step, without missing anything:
- First, degrease the surface of the nail;
- Next, apply the base in a thin layer. Carefully cover the entire nail plate. Drying in a UV lamp is not required;
- Take a jar of acrylic powder, put it on the brush and sprinkle on the nail, holding it over the jar. So the excess powder will not disappear, but will fall back into the container;
- The next step will be drying in ultraviolet light;
- With a manicure brush, gently shake off excess powder from the cuticle;
- Apply gel or plain nail polish to your nails.
If you want to not only strengthen your nails, but also improve their color, choose a camouflage powder, such as In'Garden's Peach or another similar product.
In addition to strengthening, acrylic powder is great for making various interesting design decisions on gel polish.
Here's how you can do it:
- First of all, the classic processing of nails is performed (the cuticle and burrs are removed, the desired shape is given to the nail edge);
- The surface of the nail is degreased;
- The base is applied, dried in ultraviolet light;
- After that, the surface of each nail is covered with gel polish. It is advisable to apply 2-3 layers, each of which is dried in a lamp;
- Further, using the same gel polish (or another chosen to your taste), with the help of a thin brush, a three-dimensional drawing is performed on each nail;
- The resulting pattern is sprinkled on top with acrylic powder;
- Within 2 minutes, the nails are dried in a lamp.
Design Ideas
Having understood the mechanism of working with acrylic powder, you can easily perform any design on your nails. And what exactly to do - your imagination and our advice will tell.
Design solutions:
- french. In order to perform it with acrylic powder, first select the actual powder. The classic is white matte powder, but you can choose any color you like. So, first we prepare our pens: we do a manicure in accordance with all the rules, we give the nails the desired shape. French looks best on square nails. We degrease the nail plates, apply the base, then gel polish in 2 layers, each of which is dried in a UV lamp. Next, apply gel polish again, but do not dry. We lower the tips of the nails one by one into the prepared jar with acrylic powder. They will have a thin, flat line. Gently remove excess powder from the finger with a soft dry brush, apply a transparent finish gel, dry the nails in a UV lamp;
- Matte manicure. Recently, matte nails have become very fashionable. Someone makes such an effect on all fingers, others decorate 1-2 nails on the hand in this way. It is not difficult to make such a manicure: first we prepare the nails in the same way as in the previous case (degreasing - base - gel polish in 2 layers), apply the finish without drying in the lamp; then sprinkle each nail, holding it over a jar of the selected powder (transparent powder is best). We send it to a UV lamp for polymerization, after which we remove excess powder with a brush;
- Velvet manicure. It is performed in exactly the same way as matte, but there is a difference: the nails covered with a finish gel are dried in a lamp, and then patterns are applied with a thin brush. To do this, you can use either the same gel polish or gel paint.On top of the resulting pattern, sprinkle with acrylic powder, the nails are dried in a UV lamp, the excess powder is brushed off with a brush. Powder can be used both transparent and colored;
- Summer nail design. Summer is a time of bright colors and experiments. Therefore, it's time to try a very "delicious" version of manicure with acrylic powder - "marmalade". Its distinctive feature is this: you sprinkle your nails with several shades of colored powder, as if making a transition from one color to another. It turns out very beautiful and unusual;
- Knitted manicure. Summer has passed, winter has come. It's time to think about the "knitted" version of the nail design that is relevant at this time of the year. The algorithm for its implementation is as follows: we process the nails, apply a base coat, two layers of gel polish, finish. We dry the nails in ultraviolet light, remove the dispersion layer. Next, with a thin brush, we begin to apply "winter" motifs: braids, rhombuses, stripes - to get the effect of a knitted sweater, as well as snowflakes and New Year's drawings. Dry in a lamp and apply the pattern with a second layer to obtain volume. Sprinkle it with acrylic powder on top, send the nails for polymerization, brush off the remaining powder with a brush;
- Patterns on nails. The technique for performing various patterns on nails has already been shown above. However, if you do not feel the talent of an artist in yourself, and simply do not have experience in drawing, do not despair! For beginners, special stencils have been invented, according to which it is very simple and easy to make the pattern you like;
- The use of rhinestones, bouillon. If you are a lover of shiny voluminous jewelry on your nails, you will like the following manicure option with acrylic powder, namely: decorating them with rhinestones and broths.Here's how to do it: first, of course, you manicure, degrease the nail plate and apply a thin layer of base coat. Then, you take a finish gel without a sticky layer and mix it with transparent acrylic powder until you get a thick consistency. Next, cover the nail with the resulting mass, install rhinestones or bouillons, polymerize in a UV lamp.
The final step will be fixing the jewelry: if these are rhinestones, then fix them well with a finish gel and a thin brush, but do not cover the entire nail, but just apply the gel between the rhinestones; if these are broths, then the nail is covered with the finish as a whole;
- Shiny powder in nail design. You can “powder” nails and voluminous drawings not only with matte, but also with shiny acrylic powder. Due to the content of sparkling microparticles in the composition, it plays in the sun, shimmering and glaring. There are many design options: you can decorate all nails with it or apply it only on 1-2 fingers. The pattern, sprinkled with glitter powder, takes on a special, elegant look. For example, a winter version of a manicure made in cold colors, in tandem with blue shiny powder, will remind you of ice crystals sparkling in the sun, and sequins will add sun glare to a bright summer design;
- Sculpting on nails. And finally, we got to a special kind of nail design using acrylic powder - decorative modeling. Of course, this option is not entirely suitable for everyday wear, most often it is performed for special special occasions (wedding, anniversary of something, birthday, New Year, etc.).When decorating nails in this way, the main thing is not to overdo it, as too elaborately decorated nails look ugly and tasteless.
Modeling on the ring finger looks very nice.
It is quite difficult to perform volumetric modeling on your own, especially on the working hand, for this you need to have knowledge and certain skills. Therefore, if you want to decorate your nails with high-quality beautiful stucco, it is better to contact a manicure master.
To remove acrylic gel polish from nails, use the following recommendations:
- To begin with, carefully cut the top layer (finish) using a nail file, buff or a manicure machine;
- Take a special liquid for removing such a coating, moisten pieces of cotton wool or discs, attach them to the surface of the nail and seal in cosmetic foil. Important: do not allow excessive contact of the liquid with the skin of the fingers, in order to avoid irritation;
- Wait 10 minutes;
- Remove the foil and cotton from your fingers. The gel polish will start to come off little by little. No need to rip it off your nails, as you can harm them. Better take a pusher and gently move the exfoliated gel polish to the tip of the nail;
- Again repeat the procedure for wrapping nails with special fluid, foil and cotton wool;
- Wait 10 minutes;
- Take the pusher again and gently clean the nails from the remnants of gel polish and acrylic;
- Buff your nails with a buff.
If you carry out this procedure aggressively and carelessly, later you may encounter problems such as exfoliating nails, thinning of the nail plate, the appearance of tubercles and depressions, and increased brittleness. Therefore, be patient and carry out the removal procedure delicately and carefully. For this, your nails will thank you with a healthy look and strong structure.
