Stylish dresses to school
Any girl wants to stand out among her peers in an educational institution, even if her outfits must be limited by the strict framework of a school uniform. It is a pity that now, the school uniform seems to many to be a gray and nondescript garment that completely erases even the slightest hint of originality. But do not rush to get upset, because the form, which is distinguished only by inconspicuousness, has forever remained in the past.
Now school clothes are becoming the main pride of girls, an outfit that is able to form a sense of taste and their own vision of the style of clothing. How are modern school uniforms different from previous ones?
A bit of history
The official date for the introduction of a girl's school uniform in Russia is 1896. It was approved only 62 years after the official introduction of the uniform for boys, which was associated with the rapid development of girls' school education. It is interesting that young ladies of different ages had to attend educational institutions in three versions of a fairly strict and concise outfit:
- A dress made of fairly dense woolen material and a black apron made of the same fabric were intended for everyday wear at school.
- The ceremonial attire for visiting the theater and church, as well as ceremonial events, consisted of the same woolen dress, but with a white apron and a false lace collar.
- Girls could wear a dress of any model and cut for a break with everyday clothes, but not every parent in those days could afford such a luxury.
But the color scheme of dresses could be completely different and depended on the age of the young ladies and the educational institution itself. Girls - gymnasium students up to 12 years old wore dark blue dresses, young ladies from 12 to 14 years old - turquoise, and brown dresses were intended for graduates.
Students of the Smolny Institute who reached the age of 6 - 9 wore brown or coffee-colored dresses, girls from 9 to 12 - blue, from 12 to 15 - gray, and from 15 to 18 - white.
The approved school uniform lasted 22 years, until the Russian Revolution, which took place in 1918. After that, a thirty-year period of the so-called "formlessness" followed. Without fail, girls began to wear uniforms again only in 1949, already in the Soviet Union.
USSR
In the Soviet years, the school uniform of girls again consisted of coarse woolen dresses, which were complemented by black aprons on weekdays and white aprons on holidays. Also on solemn days it was supposed to wear white tights.
Since, for a long time, the form of girls did not change, unlike the boyish one, resourceful young ladies sought to make it more original on their own. Casual aprons were sewn from fine wool, and festive aprons were made from shiny silk, cambric and lace.
In the 80s, the length of the dresses changed somewhat. If earlier the hem reached the shins, now it has begun to slightly open the knees. The modern school uniform has changed in appearance and cut, but some canons still remain the same.
Peculiarities
The main feature of the school dress, which has not undergone changes, is the length, it still reaches the knee. Real rebels can find outfits with skirts and shorter ones, but this will be impractical in an educational institution and even more uncomfortable while sitting at a desk. The neck of the dress can be open, covered with a small collar - a stand-up collar or a collar. The dress can be sleeveless, with voluminous puffed sleeves, short sleeves or tight-fitting sleeves.
How to choose
Choosing a school uniform, first of all, you need to size. Many modern mothers have a habit imposed by Soviet parents - to buy clothes for growth. But the fact is that in times of shortage, people had to somehow get out and the purchase of larger children's outfits became an absolute necessity. Now, when store shelves are literally littered with various kinds of school uniforms, this need has completely exhausted itself. The only thing that is possible in this case is to leave a small margin of length during the period of intensive growth of the child.
The material is better to choose natural - wool, cotton, linen and so on. It is also important to make sure that the clothes do not restrict the movements of the child. A small amount of synthetics in the composition of the fabric makes the product more elastic, but if the ratio of non-natural fibers exceeds 30%, then the outfit can irritate the girl's skin. In the selection process, it is also worth remembering that for little schoolgirls, too tight outfits are impractical. But high school students can already afford such pleasure.
Beautiful styles and models
Since there are no established rules regarding the choice of clothes in modern schools, girls can choose dresses to their taste, simply focusing on the well-known canons of the dress code. Due to the fact that girls from a very early age want to dress not only in an original way, but also beautifully, modern manufacturers are ready to offer several versatile styles of dresses that will be relevant at any time.
Tulip dress
This dress is ideal for girls - high school students with a rectangular figure, as well as girls of a younger age. This option is good because it does not constrain movements and allows you to add volume to the hips, which either have not had time to round yet, or are not naturally so. The waist, due to the visual increase in the lower volumes, looks much thinner, which is especially important for harmonizing proportions. But for girls with overweight or massive hips, it is better to avoid such dresses.
Basque
Another outfit option for skinny girls. The advantage of this dress is that it visually resembles a two-piece suit, which consists of a skirt and a jacket (blouse), so it fits perfectly into the school dress code. This dress will suit both high school students with a lack of volume in the hips, and younger girls. It is worth considering that in an outfit for older girls, a more voluminous peplum is possible, while younger girls are better off choosing an outfit with less ruffles in this area.
Lush
A flared dress is well suited for school-age girls because it elegantly emphasizes femininity while leaving a childish aftertaste. Depending on the degree of flare of the skirt, the dress can look both solemn and casual. Models for younger girls can be pleated. Often, these dresses are complemented by a stylish belt to emphasize the sophistication and harmony of the silhouette. Also, these models often come with a high waist.
Trapeze
A school dress in the form of a trapezoid looks the most businesslike, stylish and elegant. It fits perfectly on girls with not yet rounded volumes, so it is most often purchased for younger schoolgirls. On high school students of a thin physique, such an outfit also looks very good. Most classic designer dresses are distinguished by this cut, so if a girl falls in love with this style from childhood, it will be safe to say that a woman with an impeccable sense of taste will grow out of her. Dresses of this cut are often complemented by patch pockets.
Sundresses
A dress with straps is a classic version of a school uniform, so it deserves special attention. The first feature that can modify the look of a sundress is the skirt. It can be flared or narrow, complemented by folds or straight, but this changes the look of the outfit dramatically. The second feature is the neckline, which is often very deep. It can be semi-circular, oval, V-shaped, square or round, so you can combine this outfit with blouses, jumpers, sweaters, turtlenecks and T-shirts.
With long sleeve
This dress is perfect for the cold season. Interestingly, the width of the sleeve can be completely different. It can completely fit the hand or be slightly loose. For the winter period, it is best to choose dresses with cuffs on the sleeves. They will not let you freeze, but at the same time they will make you feel comfortable, because they will not hinder movements. Sleeves may not always cover the arm all the way to the wrist. They can be only slightly shortened, which is also possible in winter, especially considering that students spend most of their time indoors.
Full
A win-win option for school clothes for overweight girls is a sundress. To hide the excessive volume of the silhouette, it is advisable to choose a trapezoidal shape. You can also choose a fitted model, but with a flared skirt. Ties on the back will make the figure more elegant and slightly tighten the outfit along the silhouette if the child loses weight. A decorative element in the form of a beautiful brooch will distract attention from excessive fullness. The skirt of the outfit can be either straight or pleated. A high-waisted variant is also possible.
With white collar
This dress is ideal for special occasions at school, as well as the first bell. The white collar can be lace or satin, have a heart-shaped, triangular or oval shape. The collar can be solid and tied around the neck over the dress or sewn and consist of two separate parts. Often dresses with white collars also have cuffs on the sleeves and belts of the same shade.
For the last call
Recently, quite often, girls choose classic school dresses as outfits for the last call, complemented by white aprons that girls wore in Soviet times. The apron forms the main part of the image. It can be translucent and lace and harmoniously set off the shade of the dress. There are also options with satin aprons, which are distinguished by pleated straps. If the school has not introduced such an outfit for the last call, you can safely choose, because it has not yet become boring to others.
Colors and prints
The school has always been quite strict about prints on dresses, and as part of the dress code, mostly monophonic outfits were allowed. But their color scheme is now not subject to any restrictions. The only thing to consider when choosing a dress is that it should not be too bright. Otherwise, you can show complete imagination, allowing yourself to experiment with the school image to the fullest. What color dresses are the most fashionable these days?
Blue and dark blue
This version of the dress is noble and versatile. It is not as strict as the black outfit, but has enough restraint to feel natural within the school. In addition, according to psychologists, it is the shades of blue that have the most beneficial effect on the psyche, and if scientists are to be believed, they even stimulate brain activity. This is probably why blue school dresses are so popular these days.
Black
The classic shade will suit girls of any age and will make any figure elegant. The main advantage of this shade is that it is non-staining, so you can safely buy such a dress even for the most restless schoolgirls.Yes, and you will have to wash such an outfit much less often than others, so it will retain its attractive appearance for a longer time.
Gray
One of the most successful options for school clothes is a gray dress. This shade is one of the most calm, and most importantly - practical. Gray color goes well with other pale colors that are possible in school attire - black, white, dark blue, green, pale pink.
Brown
A dress of this shade can be chosen by those girls who consider the gray scale too boring. It is interesting that now girls can choose for themselves absolutely any shade of brown, ranging from coffee and chocolate, ending with chestnut and brown.
in a cage
One of the few patterns that school uniforms allow is checkered. Interestingly, the cell can be of different shapes and types. It is possible to combine several shades in the pattern at once. The most popular now is the tartan print, which combines red, white, green and gray.
materials
A wide variety of fabrics can be used for sewing school dresses. Manufacturers pay special attention to their hygroscopicity, strength, practicality and color fastness. And even if it is preferable to acquire a form for a child from natural fabrics, this is far from always appropriate. The main difficulty lies in the fact that clothing made from natural fabrics is expensive and, although pleasant to the body, is not always practical. That is why, now more and more people prefer to create school dresses from more modern materials.
Knitted
Dresses made of this fabric are good because they perfectly warm in the cold season, while at the same time having a fairly light weight.Models made of thinner knitwear are designed for a warm off-season and allow you to maintain optimal body temperature due to their hygroscopicity.
Viscose
Despite the fact that viscose is created artificially, it cannot be called a synthetic material. By properties, it is more like cotton, and it is created from a natural material - wood. Only processing is artificial, so the fabric is incredibly pleasant to the body and also hypoallergenic.
Length
The length of school outfits has always been given special attention, and so far they are not advised to deviate from universal standards. And not even because a certain length option fits within the bounds of decency, but primarily because it is optimal.
Long
The minimum possible length is to the middle of the knee. It is better not to choose a longer skirt for practical reasons. Girls with long legs and tall enough may prefer this one, because it is this option that best harmonizes the silhouette.
A short
The maximum possible is the length that fully opens the knees and a couple of centimeters of the hip. Dresses of this length can afford to be worn by younger girls. This is due to the fact that they are the most active, and such a length will not hinder movement.
What to wear
You can complement school dresses with stylish capes in the form of cardigans, jackets and jackets. On your feet in spring and autumn it is better to wear knee-highs, and in winter - tights. Shoes also need to be chosen according to the season. For the off-season, closed sandals, shoes and ballet flats are suitable, and for winter - boots or ankle boots.
Stylish images
Hairpins, rubber bands and hoops, as well as a bright backpack, will help to make the image more stylish for younger girls.Girls - high school students can complement the image with elegant jewelry in the form of earrings, pendants and watches. It is better to replace the briefcase with an elegant but roomy handbag.
