Cube tents: features, types and applications

The cubic tent is designed to protect against winter weather. They use the "cube" exclusively for winter fishing: 3-4 people can freely accommodate in it, placing it on the ice of a lake, river or sea.

The supporting base of the tent "cube" made of aluminum and / or fiberglass covers the space, allowing a person to stand, sit and lie freely, is resistant even to storm winds. Wind resistance is achieved thanks to the 6-angled design. The material is waterproof and windproof. The weight and dimensions (folded and assembled) are far superior to budget summer tents for (bike) trips.

Material - two-layer inner layer - equipped with padding insulation, which allows you to better keep warm in cold weather. A special windproof edging, located outside, prevents the loss of heated air from the inner closed space, does not freeze to ice. But a little ventilation of the air in the tent is possible through special valves.

The walls and ceiling are curved outward, which gives the “cube” more volume and prevents snow deposits from accumulating during prolonged snowfall. The overnight stay for all the inhabitants of the tent is comfortable - the more people spend the night in it, the more effective the warming will be: an adult emits up to 150 W of thermal energy per hour.

Dimensions and weight of the product are as follows:

• medium - 180x180x205 cm;

Depending on the season and the tasks to be solved, the consumer takes into account the structure and composition of the "cubic" tents.

According to the number of layers, 1-, 2- and 3-layer tents are distinguished.

• Single layer are easy to transport, suitable for temperatures up to -20 degrees Celsius. It is not suitable for many hours of fishing session - when people stay inside for a long time, such a tent becomes damp due to a temperature difference of 30 or more degrees.
• At the two-layer tents have a heat-insulating coating made of high-quality water-repellent synthetics. Suitable for temperatures down to -25 degrees Celsius.
• Three-layer structures combine the protective properties of 1- and 2-layer tents inserted into each other. The material of the walls is water-repellent synthetics, the door is sheathed with a padding layer. The fabric of the inner surface of the tent and the structural features of the outer surface prevent the formation of moisture effusion. But the mass of such a tent can reach 14 kg.

According to the protective layer, these are quilted and insulated tents. The roof of the tent consists of waterproof or breathable fabrics. The latter are suitable for frosty winters - they prevent moisture from effusion, but in a downpour at +1.2 degrees, moisture will seep into the tent.

The Stack Cub-3 tent is quite spacious, its unfolded dimensions are 2.2 * 2.2 * 2.5 m, when folded - 0.5 × 1.8 m, weighs 10 kg. Any 3-person or 4-person tent is suitable as a 2-person tent - the prices for them, depending on the quality, are quite affordable, and the free space not occupied by two out of four people is regarded as ideal comfort and freedom of movement, and / or is used for accommodation additional belongings when you travel around cities and countries, but you don’t want to move into a hotel or don’t have the opportunity.

But if you need exactly one or two-seater - take, for example, "Sakhalin Cube 2" – the reduced dimensions of the base 160*160 cm are perfect for one fisherman without much loss of comfort. For two or three fishermen, we can advise, say, "Woodland Ice Fish Cube 4". But for four - any with a base of at least 200 * 200 cm (or more) will do.

Single-layer tents are considered as summer tents - they are used between the off-season periods of the year and most often in latitudes below Moscow, where summer still retains quite warm and / or hot days. Such tents are arranged like their "umbrella" counterparts, in a simple way - mosquito nets, waterproof synthetics with water-repellent impregnation, 4-6 pegs and the simplest cubic supporting structure, mainly assembled by hand. In cheap tents, fiberglass guides with steel tips are used.

The seller expects that you have decided which tent - winter, all-season, summer - will suit you. Whether you go hiking or go fishing - "cube" is a universal solution. A cube-type tent is valued for its comfort and spaciousness - it is equally easy to lie down, sit or stand, without constraining oneself in actions, as when using a hemisphere or raincoat. The winter three-layer cube, after placing the potbelly stove, is also suitable as a camping bath. But for the summer, any single-layer is suitable.

The cube is a form highly valued by military personnel; in addition to the cube, they also use a standard parallelepiped with an impressive quadrature (the headquarters, warehouse or barracks are located in the field).

When folded, the "cube" is quite small, it is easy to transport even on the trunk of a bicycle. For the trunk of a personal car or transportation on a bus, there is a special bag-cover. Assembly of the skeleton takes only a few minutes. You can assemble such a tent alone.

To set up an auto-deploy tent, follow a few steps.

1. Pull the tent cloth out of the bag, lay it out on the ice or on the ground, spreading it over the area, and secure the edges of the tent with the help of screw-in elements, the number of which can reach 6. They are installed in metal rings with which the technological holes are “upholstered”.
2. Lift the panel at the top and at the middle inserts on the sides. Having opened the tent, secure the covering elements with the help of special fasteners and a rope.

The tent is assembled in the reverse order.

An automatic tent is needed on a short winter day, especially in northern countries, when fishermen do not expect a good bite in one place, but move to several such locations. This gives them a much greater chance of a successful catch.

Manual installation takes only a few seconds.

1. The cloth is straightened out at the site of the planned parking lot.
2. Carrying sections are threaded into special loops along the entire length on the edges of the "cube" and fixed with the help of special rings of the cloth, framed by metal inserts.
3. The “cube”, which has received a stable shape, is fixed at the parking lot on the ground with the help of pegs or screw pins. This will not allow the tent to budge when a hurricane suddenly rises. For the ice of the reservoir, an ice ax is used, screw pegs are screwed into the holes obtained with its help.
4. The wind and snow skirt (if any) is straightened around the perimeter of the tent.
