In the modern age of high technology and poor ecology, the issue of beauty and health is especially acute for many people. And it is not always possible to find natural and really effective remedies. But few people realize that ordinary tar soap can solve many problems, and for very little money.

The main component of such soap is tar.. This natural remedy, donated by nature itself, was known in the world as "Russian oil" or stone resin. In Russia, wheels, harnesses, boats and even leather boots were lubricated with them. And they were also poured over the gates of women of obscene behavior as a sign of shame. A similar custom existed in the United States. Criminals covered with this resin were sprinkled with feathers and paraded.

The very word "tar" comes from the Indo-European root "dheg" and means "burn, burn", which confirms the antibacterial qualities of this antiseptic. After all, it is not without reason that it is one of the main elements of Vishnevsky's ointment, which is successfully used to treat trophic ulcers, vascular diseases, and frostbite.

Peculiarities

Outwardly, such soap is very similar to household soap, it differs only in a pronounced specific smell and a darker color. In addition to natural tar, it contains animal fats or vegetable oils, water, thickeners, some cellulose constituents, benzoic acid, disodium salt, citric acid and edible table salt.

Thanks to natural ingredients, this product is a wonderful natural antiseptic with antibacterial, insecticidal and anti-inflammatory properties. The product lathers well, regardless of whether it is a solid or liquid soap.

Can you wash your hair

Today, despite the huge selection of hair washing products, ordinary tar soap occupies a special position among them. And this is not a novelty, but a long-known natural cleaner. Even in ancient Russia, the owners of long and healthy braids knew about the miraculous power of wood tar.

With frequent washing with this remedy, the hair begins to grow faster, becomes thicker, less greasy and gets rid of dandruff.

Benefit and harm

Like any care product, tar soap has its strengths and weaknesses. The healing properties of this resin relieve the scalp of increased fat content and dandruff, improve the blood supply to the hair follicles and give the hair volume and density, and also help cure skin diseases (psoriasis, lichen, seborrhea, dermatitis, eczema, furunculosis) and restore the hair structure after dyeing and chemical perms.

This natural antiseptic perfectly copes with pediculosis. Tar with alkali destroys lice and nits from the first application, it is enough to hold it on the hair for 5 minutes. Also, this soap is useful for people who are allergic to the chemical components of conventional shampoos.

The disadvantages include a specific smell, which, by the way, quickly disappears. For some, it is unpleasant, but for some this aroma resembles a Russian bathhouse and birch brooms. With frequent use, this tool dries the scalp and hair, so owners of thin, porous and damaged curls should use it with caution. Birch resin is also contraindicated for women during lactation.

Therefore, domestic manufacturers are successfully fighting for quality, using only natural wood tar in their work. For example, brand soap "Spring" contains birch bark tar (Tar Oil). And in products "Neva cosmetics" natural birch tar (Batula Tar) is used, which, compared to juniper or pine tar, is more successful in combating dandruff and seborrhea.

I would not say that it helps with pediculosis. I liked the Pediculen pharmacy shampoo more - it was more useful.

Tar soap is sometimes recommended for dandruff, but it dries the hair and scalp excessively.
