It has long been proven that cosmetic oil for the body, face or hair gives the best effect if used immediately after steam bath or sauna procedures or in between.

The reason is that the steam warms up the body, opens the pores, helps to remove everything superfluous and unnecessary and remove dead particles of the epidermis.

After such preliminary preparation, any cosmetic components penetrate much better into the deeper layers of the skin and have a better effect on them.

The secret of skin beauty and health

Currently, there is a wide variety of all kinds of natural extracts that are used for cosmetic purposes after the steam room. All of them have a number of advantages:

  • They do not contain any chemicals, which makes them 100% safe for even the most delicate and sensitive skin. With rare exceptions, they are also hypoallergenic.
  • Well absorbed by the upper layers of the skin.
  • They contain a huge amount of vitamins and minerals.
  • In composition, they are similar to the sebum produced by the human glands, due to which they are perceived as “their own”.
  • Price availability. Natural ingredients are often much cheaper than industrial cosmetics based on them.

At the same time, each pomace has its own individual characteristics.

  • grape seed extract, for example, it has a moisturizing effect, helps to increase the elasticity of the skin and prevents the appearance of early wrinkles.
  • oily substance tea tree accelerates the healing of wounds, cracks and inflammation.
  • olive – cleanses and helps with the first signs of aging.
  • Shea (shea) - A good moisturizer and helper in the fight against wrinkles.
  • castor - takes care of the area around the eyes.
  • sea buckthorn - helps to get rid of age spots.
  • Almond, apricot and peach - Moisturize, nourish and soften.
  • From wheat germ - promotes renewal and rejuvenation.
  • Jojoba - Helps restore fading, withered epidermis.
  • coconut - fights age-related changes and acne, has anti-inflammatory properties, nourishes and moisturizes.

Other oily substances have no less important and useful properties - from the most common to exotic ones. They can be used in their pure form, in combination with each other or as part of home-made cosmetics.

Facial care

To prepare the dermis of the face for all subsequent procedures, it must be cleaned before the bath or sauna. This can be done with a scrub or soft gel. Well suited for this and folk remedies, such as castor or olive extracts or coffee grounds.

In the steam room itself, essential compositions are used to enhance its positive effect. They are added to the water, which is sprinkled on the stones, or in a small bowl placed next to the stove.

Inhaled aromas will have a beneficial effect not only on the general condition of the body, but also on its skin:

  • Bergamot, grapefruit and lemon have a disinfecting effect, improve metabolic processes;
  • Hops help relieve redness;
  • Sage strengthens the immune system;
  • Wormwood or rosemary improves blood flow.

The best option for oily dermis would be grapefruit, mint and lemon essential compositions. Chamomile will relieve irritation and soothe dry, flaky skin, and the rose will help normalize the functions of the sebaceous glands and renew the cells of the epidermis.

At the same time, it is not recommended to apply any cosmetics while being directly in the steam room - so as not to interfere with the removal of all harmful substances accumulated there from the skin. Use cosmetics between visits to the steam room.

After leaving the steam room, you must first wash and only then apply masks and other facial care products.

It is noteworthy that for such procedures it is not necessary to go to the bathhouse. You can use the home sauna - a kind of steam mini-bath. To do this, simply fill the tank of the device with water and wait until it boils and steam appears.

It is best to do this in the evening, shortly before bedtime, so that the dermis can recover and fully relax overnight.

Just like a real steam room, such a home sauna cleanses the face, opens pores, improves blood flow and helps prepare for cosmetic procedures.

For dry epidermis, 5-7 minutes of use will be enough, for normal, oily and combined, an increase in time up to 8-12 minutes is allowed.
