Oils are the perfect cosmetic product. They are rich in composition, and natural and complete absorption by the skin turns them into a time-tested way of effective care. When used correctly, their components can solve almost all facial skin problems and eliminate relapses.

Kinds

According to the ancient Indian teachings of Ayurveda, only those remedies are good for human skin, with which wildlife has endowed it. This fully applies to oils, but only works if they are made from natural biological ingredients, and not artificially synthesized.

Various parts of plants can serve as raw materials for the manufacture of natural oils:

  1. Cereal seeds: flax, sunflower, hemp;
  2. nuts: walnut, cedar or almond;
  3. Fruitcontaining seeds: apricot, avocado, olive or peach;
  4. Herbs: rose, sage, saffron;
  5. Spices: ginger, cinnamon or cloves.
  • According to the type of consistency, they are divided into liquid, thick or solid.
  • Solid butters, also known as butters, are shea butter, coconut butter, palm butter, coffee butter, and cocoa butter.
  • Thick include such as avocado, castor and wheat germ.
  • All others are liquid.

There are base oils or "conductors", and essential oils, which have an increased saturation of components and therefore cannot be used in their pure form.

Basic

Consider the most famous of the oils - conductors and their compatibility.

The rarest and most expensive in the world is argan oil. It has a huge number of useful qualities due to its composition. It is used both independently and as a base.

Avocado in its pure form it does not make sense to use it, it is useful in a mixture with apricot, peach and grape seed oils; is a good conductor for essential oils.

But watermelon seed oil should only be used as a standalone product.

shea butter (or shea butter) has a solid form, so it must be melted in a water bath before use. A special feature is the fact that shea butter is stored for no more than two years, after this period it loses most of its useful qualities. It is used both independently and as a conductor for ethers. It is often used to make creams, gels and ointments.

Burdock and peach kernel oil also do not mix with other bases, they can be used in pure form or with the addition of esters.

Palm oil it is used either independently or added to the composition of masks and creams; it is not recommended to mix it with other bases.

But sea buckthorn oil it can be used in its pure form only when treating the affected areas, since it has a pronounced coloring effect. Mixes with almost all bases, used to create creams and masks.

Green coffee oil is one of the noblest and most expensive, it is an ingredient in ointments for psoriasis, burns, age-related changes in the form of pigmentation.

Broccoli Seed Oil, unfamiliar to the domestic consumer, can be considered a source of natural silicone, due to the high content of erucic acid, which acts as a stabilizer. It is used in its pure form, and is added to lotions, balms and lipsticks.

The exotic also includes that which is made from evening primrose, or, as they are also called, evening primroses. This is a very expensive product, because it is obtained from flower seeds. A feature of this substance is its ability to enhance the effect of any of the base oils in which evening primrose is added, and thereby enhance the therapeutic effect. There is a contraindication for the use of this product, it is a disease of psoriasis.

Also included in the base Brazilian and walnut oils, peanut, mustard, cedar, castor, coconut, sesame, linseed, melon, jojoba, macadamia, St. John's wort, calendula, wheat germ oil, sea buckthorn and many others. In total there are almost 50 species.

Essential

There are up to 500 types of natural compounds related to essential oils. They are called ethereal due to their volatility and aroma, by analogy with the Greek word "ether", which means "a layer of air that the gods breathe." All such compounds evaporate very actively and have pronounced odors of varying intensity, while being potent biologically active substances that can cause allergic reactions.

For this reason, they are never used in their pure form, but are added a few drops to the base oil, or to the composition of the cream, for example, based on vaseline oil.

Some of the broadcasts are well known to the Russian consumer, for example, aloe vera, clove, bergamot, jasmine, saffron, fir or eucalyptus.

Rare for us are such natural substances as widely known in Asian countries mango butter. It has a semi-solid texture, is characterized by an increased level of fatty acids, perfectly moisturizes and at the same time is non-comedogenic, that is, it does not clog pores and will not cause the formation of comedones (black dots) on the skin.

Also little known tangerine oil, which, meanwhile, has the important advantage of its gentle, mild effect, for this reason it can be used even during pregnancy. It should be noted that, like all citrus oils, it should not be used on the skin immediately before exposure to bright sunlight, as it can cause sunburn.

natural camellia oil also not a very common product. This is primarily due to the fact that its manufacture is a very complex and costly process, therefore, in order to save money, manufacturers often dilute it with artificially produced, or extracted additives. A natural product is subject to long-term storage, unlike a diluted one, which becomes rancid very quickly. A significant plus of camellia oil is that it is absorbed very quickly and fully, penetrating into the deepest layers of the epidermis, while it has no contraindications and can be used by pregnant women and children for all skin types.

Beneficial features

Due to the peculiarities of their molecular structure, cosmetic oils penetrate very deeply into the skin, spreading their nourishing effect to the deep layers of the epidermis (even the "coolest" cream, not enriched with oils, can only affect the first layer of the skin).

Each oil is an almost complete set of vitamins and acids that heal the skin and at the same time have a cosmetic effect, and this is precisely the reason for the benefits of their use.

Argan oil has a high cost. And this is not accidental, because it is caused by the complexity of its production and a huge range of applications based on medicinal properties:

  1. Tocopherol prevents premature aging of cells, prolonging youth and preserving beauty for a long time, due to the fact that it activates the reproduction of collagen in cells, which guarantees firmness and smoothness of the skin;
  2. plant pigments, known as polyphenols, are powerful antioxidants that prevent premature aging: they smooth wrinkles and protect against cancer;
  3. organic acids have an antibacterial effect, block foci of inflammation, soothe irritated skin and help the rapid healing of skin microcracks, preventing acne;
  4. Fatty acid - have a protective effect that reflects the attacks of ultraviolet and low temperatures.

In the video below, the girl talks about the benefits of using argan oil instead of face cream.

avocado oil, which in its properties is related to sebum, is also a good protective film against ultraviolet rays. Excellent absorbency, as well as its moisturizing and softening properties, are indicated for fading aging skin, and for the skin around the eyes.

Grape seed oil it is able to compensate for the loss of its own fat by skin and hair overdried as a result of the use of cosmetics and coloring agents. At the same time, it is quickly absorbed, is not able to clog skin pores and normalizes the fat balance, therefore it is suitable for all skin types.

Shea butter or shea butter has a high content of tocopherol, natural steroids and polyphenols. Together, these natural ingredients have a beneficial effect on dry aging skin, moisturizing, stimulating and making it more elastic. For young skin, this remedy will help in case of acne proneness, as it is non-comedogenic and anti-inflammatory.

pistachio - This is a whitening oil that fights age spots and freckles, can remove traces of post-acne, spider veins and cracks on the lips.

Application in cosmetology

The use of oils for facial care is due to both the unique properties of each of them and the individual characteristics of the skin of each individual person. Even with a 100% natural composition, oils are not a universal panacea, they must be used wisely. In order to choose the basis for proper care, you should first visit a beautician, determine the type of skin and the cause of problems on it.

From black dots, which are also called comedones, and which provoke inflammation in the clogged ducts of the sebaceous glands, cosmetic masks made at home using natural oils can help.

One of these masks is a mixture of activated charcoal, aloe juice and tea tree oil. It is especially useful in cases where inflammation is already present on the skin, which will help to stop tea tree extract, the only ester that has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect.

From black cumin produce oil, which is used in cosmetology in the treatment of many skin pathologies. At the same time, it is also an anti-aging agent. Its regular use for aging skin produces a tightening effect, it will look fresher and more elastic. It also eliminates peeling, and vitamin B, which is part of it, normalizes the water balance.

During pregnancy, the use of caraway oil prevents the formation of unattractive stretch marks on the skin. Another of its useful properties, which are actively used by cosmetologists, is that it helps to avoid the appearance of edema and fine wrinkles, as well as to reduce the depth of large ones.

In its pure form, this remedy can be applied only to some of the most problematic areas of the skin, on which it is desirable to obtain a quick therapeutic effect. In all other cases, it is worth using a diluted composition, for example, for oily skin it will be useful to mix one teaspoon of cumin with seven drops of juniper, two drops of bergamot and four drops of rosemary and use this remedy daily.

It has a tightening action and wheat germ oil. Moreover, it strengthens the capillaries, thereby keeping the face from the appearance of the so-called "mesh", improves the oval of the face, is especially useful for sagging skin, as it has the ability to penetrate into its deepest layers, saturating it with moisture. However, when using it, it is worth remembering that it has one of the highest comedogenicity rates, and therefore should not be used on oily skin.

It is applied by adding a few drops to the finished factory cream immediately before applying it to cleansed skin. In its natural form, it is very viscous, so for use it is also mixed with liquid stone bases, such as grape, apricot or peach.

The composition of the masks depends primarily on the type of skin and the problems that it has.

How to choose according to skin type

The skin, which can be called oily, requires drying compounds that will narrow the pores, normalize the secretion of intradermal fat, thereby eliminating excessive shine. This will help to achieve such basics as grape seed oil, almond, jojoba.

Dry skin will be shown moisturizing nutrients, which should be applied directly after washing on a damp face. In this case, oils - conductors, penetrating into the deeper layers of the skin, will deliver liquid molecules there. best suited for this task wheat germ oil, evening primrose, black sesame or avocado.

Normal skin types will accept any of the base oils just fine, but almond considered to be universal.

It is also suitable for mixed skin types, although in this case it is desirable to treat each of the areas with a suitable remedy for it.The nose, forehead and chin, which are usually oily areas, should be dried. Whiskey, cheeks, the area near the eyes - on the contrary, require moisture.

Caring for aging skin requires special attention. Usually, the symptoms of wilting are flabbiness and dryness of the skin, as well as its peeling. In such cases, antioxidant oils are indicated, which are argan, avocado, jojoba or borage.

Suitable for sensitive skin prone to irritation and redness apricot kernel, calendula, argan, sesame and coconut oils.

Tips

Before using the oil, be sure to check if you have any contraindications for the use of this particular substance, which may be associated with existing human diseases.

An example is such a serious disease as psoriasis, in which the use of evening primrose oil, or evening primrose, is unacceptable. But other remedies, for example, shea butter, on the contrary, are indicated for psoriasis.

In any case, if you have health problems, you should consult your doctor before using new skin care products.

In addition, oils can cause allergies, since all of them, in fact, are biologically active substances. When choosing an oil, it is worth checking for skin sensitivity. In order to make sure that the newly used remedy does not cause a rash on the face, it is necessary to first apply a small amount of it to the skin in the area of \u200b\u200bthe elbow bend, or on the wrist. If after a few hours there is no redness or itching on the skin at the site of application, then it is safe.

When mixing oils, it must be remembered that not all of them can be combined with each other, some are used exclusively in their pure form, in addition, no more than five ingredients can be combined in one composition.

Basic combination rules:

  1. Choose an oil-base for your skin type;
  2. Make sure that the esters included in the composition are also suitable for this type of skin;
  3. None of the components will cause activation of the action of the sebaceous glands of the epidermis (that is, it is not comedogenic);
  4. That they are able to enhance each other's effects;
  5. Do not combine more than two components with a strong local irritant effect in one mixture.

Apply the mixture on the skin of the face should be correct. First, pour a little into the palm of your hand, then dip the pads of your fingers and apply with gentle circular motions to the face and neck. You should start from the chin, moving up along the oval of the face. Then from lips to cheeks. Then in a circular motion from the cheeks to the temples, after which the cheeks themselves are massaged directly. The final stage is the neck area, which is treated by smoothing from the center.

Natural vegetable oils can be useful when applying color cosmetics, for example, to replace a primer containing artificial silicone, you can use broccoli seed oil.

It is a natural tightening agent that works great as a makeup primer. With a good sliding property, even in a small amount it perfectly covers the face, so even a few drops will be enough. Without giving a greasy sheen, it evens out the surface of the skin of the face, so the makeup will look natural and will last in good condition for several hours.

When buying natural vegetable oil, it is advisable to ask how it was produced. The first cold-pressed oil will have the most beneficial effect on the skin, but it will also differ significantly in cost, so if you want to experiment with an unknown and previously unused remedy, it is better to buy a quality sample of it in a small sample package.

Deserves special attention oil for stretch marks and scars "Bio Oil". This product is produced in South Africa at the plant of the Swedish concern Cederroth. The composition of this cosmetic mixture includes a rare oil called purcellin, which is a synthetic analogue of a complex natural extract produced by the glands of waterfowl. Reviews

There is surprising unanimity in reviews of oils and their use in facial care. They are called divine, most pleasant, magnificent, irreplaceable and delightful.

Usually the comments relate to the moisturizing effect, easy application or the use of oils to remove makeup. Good reviews about the compositions applied at night, while, as they say, the skin is soft and well-groomed in the morning, inflammation becomes less noticeable.

Good reviews about the compositions and masks that are prepared with your own hands, taking into account personal characteristics, thoughtfully and wisely.

Of the negative points, one can single out complaints about individual complexes for the care of inflamed skin, which did not bring results. There are disappointing reviews about some manufacturers whose formulations seem divorced to buyers. It also mentions the absence of dark glass bottles, or inconvenient dispensers, this is found in inexpensive series.

In general, the reviews are more than positive, so it’s tempting to check what this kind of oil magic is.
