Blood pollution is one of the most complex, this feature lies in their biological nature. Removing biological stains from clothes and furniture upholstery is actually not so easy if you do not know some tricks.

Peculiarities

Blood is a protein that tends to coagulate from high temperatures, so it is almost impossible to wipe the caked-on stains from clothing fibers. Blood stains should never be soaked and washed in boiling water or hot water. Only in this case there is a chance to get rid of them without a trace.

Removing stains in a washing machine is somewhat more difficult, so housewives are advised to first wash them by hand in ice water. Like any pollution, blood is better washed fresh.

Natural fabrics with good absorbency are more difficult to clean. Removing blood from synthetics (such as microvelour) is not difficult.

What are the types of pollution?

All blood pollution can be divided into several types:

  • Fresh - they are the easiest to clean.
  • Old ones are a little more difficult to remove.
  • Dried spots - most often they are a yellow mark on the fabric left over from an unsuccessful wash in hot water.

What can be removed?

Hydrogen peroxide has worked well for removing blood stains. This is one of the most effective means for removing bloody traces, which can be found in any first aid kit. Antiseptic solution poured directly onto the old stain to completely soak the fibers of the fabric. After 10-15 minutes, the product is rubbed with laundry soap and left for a while.

Peroxide is ideal for tough materials such as bed linen. But it will only damage thin delicate fabrics, silk shirts. Peroxide has oxidizing properties, so it costs nothing to leave a hole in the fabric.

The tool can be called ideal for light things. On colored fabrics, it can work aggressively, so before processing it is worth testing on an inconspicuous area.

An excellent tool to wash blood stains is considered to be ammonia. The contaminated area must be rinsed with cold water and soaked in a solution of 1 tablespoon of ammonia and a glass of liquid of the same temperature. The stain itself is also wiped with ammonia using a cotton pad. After an hour, the thing can be washed in the traditional way in powder.

In order not to spoil expensive fabric, you can test the product on an inconspicuous part of the product.

In the washing machine

Experienced housewives are aware that it is quite difficult to remove blood stains from clothes in the washing machine. But knowing some tricks, the effect of such washing can be quite good.

The most difficult thing is to set the correct washing mode. Already at 40 degrees, the blood is baked and eaten into the fibers of the tissue. Therefore, when choosing a program, you should prefer the lowest temperature.A small amount of salt or ammonia is added to the detergent, but special stain removers for biological contaminants are most effective.

In order to qualitatively purify blood from a product, it is necessary to take into account the type of thing and the characteristics of the material.

Removing traces of blood from jeans is not difficult if the freshness of the stains is obvious. When they dry, the situation takes a different turn. You can try more than one method before the hated blood stains disappear. Fresh dirt does not need to be rubbed, this further contributes to the ingestion of the stain. Place a clean towel soaked in cold water under it and allow it to soak up excess blood.

Rinse the towel under running water and repeat the manipulations until it stops absorbing blood. At the first opportunity, soak the product in cold water for half an hour or an hour. After that, it is enough to wash the jeans in the washing machine, adding a stain remover.

Stubborn stains can be removed without a trace using meat marinating seasoning. To do this, a teaspoon of spices is diluted in a small amount of water to the state of gruel. Using a clothes brush, gently apply the product to the stained area and leave for half an hour. Blood is a protein, so spices to tenderize the meat will help remove it from the jeans.

It is also possible to fight stains on a T-shirt, sweater or shirt if you wash the product in cold water in time. For such things, housewives use potato starch. It is mixed with water to the consistency of sour cream and applied to the soiled area, then rinsed and washed in the classic way.

Cleaning outerwear is somewhat more difficult due to the density of the material.A jacket or coat is soaked in ice water, 80% laundry soap grated on a fine grater and washing powder with coenzymes are added there. The product is left in a soapy liquid for 60-90 minutes, after which it is rinsed in clean water.

When removing blood stains from bed linen, it is wiser to first soak the part of the product where the most dirt is located. So you can avoid spreading the stain throughout the fabric. Most stains on laundry can be successfully removed with coenzyme powder and soap.

Delicate fabrics require more gentle cleaning. In this case, a couple of tablespoons of transparent shampoo and the same amount of salt are dissolved in cold water, the solution is applied to a silk sheet or other product. The mixture is allowed to penetrate into the fibers of the fabric, rinsed and washed in the traditional way.

Color

The stain removal method is primarily affected by the color of the product. Blood stains are especially unpleasant on light things. When removing dirt, you should carefully follow all the recommendations so as not to leave a yellow mark from a blood smudge, otherwise there is a risk of completely ruining your favorite thing. Even a barely noticeable mark on a white blouse or evening shirt can become a greasy stain on your reputation.

In the fight against stains on white things, lemon juice and baking soda have proven themselves. No less relevant are active chemicals, such as:

  • bleaches based on chlorine;
  • special stain removers;
  • powders for removing biological contaminants;
  • ammonia;
  • ammonia solution

Colored fabrics require a slightly different approach. Chemicals must be designed specifically for colored products, as indicated in the instructions on the package.

Manually

Most stains do not require a washing machine at all. Modern detergents and folk methods can effectively remove red stains at home.

Soak and wash any products only in cool water, there are several ways to do this:

  • A fresh stain is washed off much easier - quickly enough to wash it off under cold running water, and then wash it with laundry soap. To do this, carefully rub the contaminated area with soap and leave for 2-3 hours. After that, it is enough to rub a little the place where there was blood, and rinse.

  • To effectively remove dried-on dirt, clothes are soaked in cold water for half an hour, then the water is changed by adding washing powder or stain remover. The best option is if the product is designed to remove biological contaminants.

  • A well-established method of soaking in salted water. Cool water is poured into a basin and so much salt is poured so that the water is lightly salted. The stained thing is immersed in the solution and left for several hours. Wash with any suitable detergent in lukewarm water.

  • If stains still remain after washing in cold water with soap, you can resort to the good old remedy - soda ash. It is effective for many old stains. To prepare a solution, 50 g of soda is diluted in a liter of water, the contaminated thing is soaked in it and left for 7-8 hours. Wash and rinse the thing in the classic way. Soda ash is quite replaceable food.

It is better to rinse products in warm water. Hot is permissible only if the contamination has completely disappeared.

Furniture and other things

Washing blood stains from the fabric upholstery of a car or on a sofa is somewhat more difficult than from clothes or linen. The upholstery cannot be washed. But good methods of cleaning still exist.

A fresh stain can be washed off with laundry soap. The following manipulations are carried out: the rag is moistened in cold water and they try to remove contamination with simple mechanical movements. After that, it is necessary to wet the fabric in a concentrated solution of laundry soap and process the remnants of the blood trail. Periodically, you can rinse the rags under running water.

If the stain has dried up, it is worth resorting to dishwashing gel. The cleaning method is as follows: the gel is diluted in ice water in proportions of 1: 2. A sponge is dipped into the resulting solution and the blood smudge is slightly moistened with it and left for half an hour. Next, the stained area is carefully treated with a toothbrush. You should not be too zealous so that the stain does not eat into the material even more. At the end, the cleaning agent must be washed off with a damp sponge.

Ordinary aspirin is well suited for light-colored carpets and upholstery. The tablet is crushed into powder and stirred in a glass of water. Dip a cotton swab into the resulting solution and wipe the blood smudge. The method is relevant for woolen products, mattresses, carpets.

To eliminate old dirt from the upholstery of the sofa, the hostesses recommend a mixture of borax and ammonia. You will need two bowls. In one, a spoonful of ammonia is mixed with a glass of water, in the other - the same amount of borax and liquid. During the cleaning process, a sponge is moistened in one solution and applied to the contamination, a similar procedure is done with another solution. The remains of the mixture are removed with a dry sponge.

Faux leather upholstery is relevant in modern furniture and car interiors. To get rid of bloody streaks, you can use the following recipe. In a glass of water, take ½ teaspoon of dish soap and a tablespoon of ammonia. Mix all the ingredients and apply on the stained area. Treat the area with a toothbrush. The remains are washed off with a damp sponge. For old contamination, such manipulations will have to be repeated.

Genuine leather requires a more delicate approach. The previous solution for artificial leather is also effective. The ingredients are mixed until a thick foam is obtained and spread on leather upholstery. The treated area is left for a while, after which the sponge is moistened in the mixture and the stain is gently wiped. The remains of the foam are removed with a clean cloth and the place of the former contamination is wiped with a dry towel.

It is possible to remove red stains from the skin relief with the help of shaving cream. To do this, the foam is carefully rubbed into the surface and left for a while. Wipe off the agent with a damp cloth.

At home, you should use wine stone. It is mixed with lemon juice in proportions of 1: 2. The resulting mixture should be similar in consistency to a paste that is applied to the stain. It is carefully rubbed. After 15 minutes, you can remove everything with a damp sponge and wipe it with a dry towel. For stubborn stains, the procedure is repeated many times.

If the stains on the carpet are very old, you can use bile soap. Such a stain remover is able to remove any dirt, including blood stains. The stain is abundantly moistened with water and the agent is applied, left for an hour. The stained area is treated with a stiff brush, the remnants of the product are removed with a damp sponge or cotton pad.The carpet can then be vacuumed and dried. This tool is relevant for both natural and synthetic products. Handmade flooring is best left to a professional dry cleaner.

Before removing stains from wallpaper, you need to get rid of dust on the wall covering. It is best to use a vacuum cleaner. If the dust is left, dirt streaks form when they are wetted.

To remove stains from paper sheets, you can use hydrogen peroxide. Moisten a cotton pad with it and gently wipe the place of contamination. In no case should you rub a blood smudge, single-layer wallpaper is too delicate material. If, after drying, traces of the stain are still present, it is worth repeating the treatment.

Alcohol or nail polish remover is also effective in removing blood stains. Instructions for their use are similar to the peroxide method. But it is worth taking into account that these funds have a more aggressive effect on any coating.

The main advantage of vinyl wallpaper is the ability to wash them. There are special tools for this type of wall covering, but if they are not at hand, you can resort to folk methods.

Tooth powder is diluted with water to a state of thick sour cream. The resulting slurry is applied in a thin layer to the site of contamination. After 24 hours, the remnants of the product are removed with a soft brush. The powder can be used even for the cheapest non-woven wallpaper options.
