They do not differ in breathtaking design details, in them you will not be able to shock the audience and attract everyone's attention. This is exactly the outerwear in which you feel comfortable and look neat. But this is just what is so necessary for a person living in a frantic pace of life.
About the brand
Fred Perry is a famous British brand that at the very dawn of its existence specialized in the production of wristbands for athletes. This is not surprising, because it was created by world tennis champion Fred Perry and former football player Tibby Wagner, who, like no one else, were familiar with the problem of rubbing their wrists with equipment during the game.
In the late 40s, when the first product line was launched, tennis players loved wristbands so much that Perry decided to release a collection of sportswear, comfortable and practical. The company's trademark - a laurel wreath - was not chosen by chance. It was he who, as a symbol of victory, was supposed to bring good luck to the players on the court.
Original polo shirts, sweatshirts and baseball caps became the highlight of the company and were loved by famous athletes of the 50s and 60s.They became recognizable thanks to advertising on television and already in the 70s, they were transformed into an integral element of not only sports, but also street style.
In 1996, Fred Perry begins cooperation with other companies and expands its product range. New pants, turtlenecks, moccasins, dresses, cardigans and jackets appear in the brand line every season. These items of clothing do not have a distinctive feature in colors and styles. Their main feature is the exceptional quality and simplicity of true British style.
Throughout its existence, the company has produced individual items of clothing that people liked so much that they became cult. Next, models of jackets that are the personification of a certain era will be considered.
Model overview
Truly unique, seven models of jackets from Fred Perry are considered:
Duffle coat - a jacket-coat made of dense woolen fabric. This model is distinguished by massive sewn-on pockets, a deep hood that fastens at the neck and unusual buttons. The length of this jacket is just above the knee.
The parka is the length of the jackets, the same as in the previous version. The model is distinguished by a high collar-hood and a large number of pockets, including sewn-on ones. Jackets are made on fur insulation. The outer layer is covered with a reliable windproof material.
The lightweight jacket features wide placket at the sleeves and a button closure at the chest. The main highlight is a wide chest pocket with a flap. The inside of the jacket is made of fleece and the outside is made of nylon.
A raincoat jacket is something between an elongated windbreaker and a shortened raincoat. The original model consists of nylon fabric without insulation. It is distinguished by a small hood and a fastener in the form of buttons or zippers.
Harrington is a light jacket, but already much warmer than the previous one. It features a small stand-up collar with button closure, elastic bands at the hem and cuffs, and a zip fastening.
Pea coat is the epitome of British style. These jackets are distinguished by lapel collars and a length just below the hips. The original models are 80% wool, so they are suitable for the cold season.
The canvas jacket is the perfect garment for the wet season as it is made from water-repellent materials. Fleece-based lining circulates air well, keeping the body warm.
As for color combinations, we can say that women's models are more often made bright and colorful, while men's are more restrained.
