Eye cream after 40 years

In poetry, eyes are often compared to lakes. And so that their beauty does not fade over the years, the eyelid area requires special care and careful selection of cosmetic creams.

Flabbiness. Around the eyes, the skin is very thin, and there is practically no fatty tissue in it. Collagen and elastin fibers are not numerous. After 40 years, the destruction of these fibers begins to prevail over the synthesis.

Some manufacturers market their anti-aging eye creams as containing collagen. Those who are guided by the choice of these parameters should know:

• Animal collagen cannot penetrate the dermis due to its large molecular size, and it is often incompatible with human skin fibers. Such creams are simply useless.
• More effective products contain plant-derived collagen (wheat proteins).
• Marine collagen molecules are the most "penetrating" into the dermis, easier to assimilate in the human body.

Dryness. Hydration of the skin around the eyes depends on hyaluronic acid. In the composition of creams, it is low molecular weight (molecules with a short chain) and high molecular weight. Different molecules have different functions:

• Molecules with a short chain easily penetrate into deep layers. Their role in instant hydration is small. They work for the future, promoting the production of collagen.
• Long molecular chains remain in the epidermis. They attract water from the environment, form a hydrophilic film on the surface of the skin, and create an instant hydration effect.

Mimic wrinkles. The muscles of the eyes are more likely than others to contract, so the skin in this area already in youth is threatened by the appearance of fine wrinkles. Unfortunately, there is no cream that completely eliminates mimic wrinkles.

Dark spots. The reasons for their appearance around the eyes have not been studied. It is assumed that disturbances in the work of melanin-producing cells occur due to hormonal changes in the body under the active influence of ultraviolet rays. Therefore, for prevention, it is recommended to wear sunglasses and use cosmetics with UV protection.

The structure of the cream should be light (too oily cream will make the skin heavier and may lead to puffiness). It should be quickly absorbed, be PH-neutral so as not to irritate the mucous membrane of the eyes, and contain the following components:

• Retinol (Vitamin A) or its derivatives (retinoids) generate the appearance and growth of new cells, promote the formation of collagen fibers.
• Tocopherol (Vitamin E) - antioxidant, creates a lifting effect, improves blood circulation, protects against adverse external influences.
• Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is a powerful antioxidant and stimulator of fibroblast reproduction (cells responsible for the synthesis of collagen, elastin, hyaluron).
• Hyaluronic acid.

• Of particular note are peptides (protein components) - this is a relatively new word in cosmetology.. Peptides are able to penetrate into the deep layers, activate biological processes in them and "carry" with them the substances contained in the cosmetic product.

1. Acetyl Hexapeptide-3 (Argireline) relieves spasms of mimic wrinkles. Its action is similar to the action of botulinum toxin, with the only difference being that the signal from the nerve endings to the muscles is not completely blocked, but weakened and delayed.
2. Palmitoyl pentapeptide (Matryxil) activates collagen biosynthesis.
3. GHK-Cu containing copper, stimulates skin remodeling, helps to destroy worn out, inactive skin structures and build new effective ones.
4. Decorinyl tetrapeptide controls the quality of the newly synthesized collagen, “makes sure” that it acquires the correct forms and does not turn into useless deposits.

• Azelaic acid necessary for the skin in cases of acne, hyperpigmentation, lethargy and ptosis. Eye creams, as a rule, do not include this component in their composition due to the irritating effect on the mucous membrane. Therefore, you can fight stains with the help of conventional 20% creams with azelaic acid (Azelik, Skinoren, GiGi "Bioplasma"). They are much more effective than products containing caffeine, designed to eliminate congestion and circles under the eyes.

Having studied anti-aging creams for the skin around the eyes, analyzing their popularity rating among consumers, we can conclude that Russian women prefer products of domestic manufacturers or cosmetic companies from neighboring countries.

The Novosibirsk enterprise "VI-Cosmetics" has released a series of cosmetics, including an eye balm, "BifidoCosmetica", made on the basis of processed milk raw materials. The lysates of probiotic microorganisms contained in the creams start the process of regeneration in the deep layers of the skin and contribute to its self-rejuvenation, create a healthy microflora of the skin and increase immunity, increasing the protective properties.

• Ukrainian Medical Research and Production Association "Biocon" is engaged in the development and production of hirudocosmetics – skin care products based on leech extract with natural oils and vitamins.

• The composition of Levrana products includes exclusively natural herbal ingredients: oils, extracts of medicinal plants and northern berries. According to the manufacturers, they lack not only chemical products, but also animal ingredients. This is the first vegetarian cosmetics.

• The Belarusian company Bielita has launched a new line of mesocomplex on the market. According to the manufacturer, this cosmetics is an impeccable non-injection biorevitalization of the skin for three age groups - 30+, 40+, 50+.

• Retinoid-like properties without side effects have an extract of blue algae (“blue retinol”) - a source of natural vitamin A, which is part of the anti-aging eye cream "Azure Dream" Teana. According to the marketers of this company, the cream promotes the renewal of skin cells, fights age spots, and has an instant lifting effect. Oligopeptides and oligosaccharides of lupine and alfalfa reduce swelling.

• The Russian company Helso offers women protein cosmetics. Active serums (cosmetic collagen and cosmetic elastin) should be added to creams and masks, this will increase the effectiveness of their components.The peptides contained in the serums contribute to the restoration of destroyed elastin, the release of the skin from toxins and its hydration, the generation of its own collagen, the correction of age-related changes and the reduction of the severity of wrinkles.

• Librederm eye cream-gel contains hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes, which makes it quite effective in combating age-related dehydration of the skin around the eyes.
