The eyes are the mirror of the soul. Often the emphasis in makeup falls on them, but it is not always appropriate. Modern makeup trends have moved the eyes to the background, making room for the lips and especially the eyebrows, but you must admit that not a single make-up is complete without working out the eyelids and eyelashes. Makeup according to the shape of the eyes allows you to emphasize the "mirror" of any soul and visually correct its shortcomings.

How to determine the shape and position?

Take a mirror and sit down. It will take a few minutes to assess the shape, features of the eyes and choose the perfect makeup to correct the appearance.

  • Assess the distance between the eyes (their inner corners). If it is less than the width of one eye, there is a close-set type, if more - wide-set. If the distance between the corners is approximately the same as the width of the eye, proceed to the next step.
  • Evaluate the eyes in terms of the depth of their planting. Deep-set, as if buried in the eye sockets and slightly shaded by the eyelid, which, by the way, is small and dark.Large bulging eyes have a wide eyelid, are like bulging and visible literally at first sight. If this item is not about you, then we recommend that you go to the next step and determine the shape of the eyes.
  • Compare them to lips. Medium in size resemble the shape and size of the mouth (may be slightly smaller), have an oval shape. Every girl or man will be able to identify slanted (narrow) eyes at first sight - they have a small width and an overhanging eyelid. The makeup of the Mongoloid eyes is significantly different from sunken or spaced. Now let's talk about the shape of the eyes, because it is equally important to take it into account when doing make-up.
  • The monolid form is the most common among Europeans. It is distinguished by the absence of a noticeable crease on the upper eyelid and a fairly wide-open look (evaluate the shape in a well-lit room and at a right angle, that is, not from above or below, but look in the mirror directly in front of you). Open your eyes wide again and see if you can see the crease on the upper eyelid. If it is visible, then you have a “hood” - it is usually highlighted with shadows and lifted with the help of shadows.
  • Evaluate the corners of your eyes and whether they are lowered or raised. To do this, it is enough to draw an invisible parallel or take a pencil (any other thin long object) and bring it to the middle of the pupil. If the corners are higher than the parallel, then the corners of your eyes are raised and “smiling”, if lower, then they are lowered (and “sad”). It happens that one corner is raised (external, for example), the second is lowered, then we are talking about asymmetrical eyes and the need to correct them using a simple makeup technique.
  • The main two eye shapes are round and almond shaped. Look at your pupil - if you see white above and below it, then your eyes are round, if the white is clearly visible only on the left and right side, then you are dealing with the most common almond-shaped form. The shape of swollen, deep, far-set eyes, asymmetric, slanting and others can be corrected with makeup. It will not be possible to change it by 100%, but it is quite possible to emphasize it favorably.

How to change the form?

This can be done visually with the help of cosmetics - the shortest and most affordable way to transform the eyes. There are two main eye shapes - round and almond shaped, but even each of them looks different depending on the shape and size of the face and other parts of it. The almond shape is considered ideal - gracefully elongated with raised corners, and every eye makeup technique strives to create it.

Arrows - black, brown, gray - will help to visually change the shape of the eyes - select the shade of the decorative agent to the natural color of the eyes and their size.

  1. To correct small eyes start drawing an arrow from the middle of the century - at first a thin line is drawn, which gradually expands and goes up. Replace the jet-black eyeliner with brown, green, blue, choose the opposite mascara, darker and with a glossy finish.
  2. To make Asian eyes wider and bigger, use contrasting colors. First, draw a line with a dark (gray, brown) pencil over the crease of the upper eyelid - look in front of you and simply repeat the contour by lightly pressing the pencil. From the outer corner, draw a small line upwards with eyeliner or a pencil and connect it to the first one. This will create a new "open" form.Cover the moving eyelid with light shadows, the lower eyelid with dark ones. Do not forget about the liner, you can start drawing the arrow both from the inner corner (with a wide or medium setting of the eyes) or from the middle of the eyelid (if it is narrow).
  3. To correct bulging eyes, shadows should be set aside and use eyeliner or liner instead. Display a neat thin arrow and do not touch the lower eyelid.

Makeup allows you to bring the natural shape of the eye closer to the ideal almond-shaped, so the right shadows will transform any look.

Makeup correction

Small eyes

For small eyes it is recommended to use light shades with a pearly finish or liquid shades with a glossy finish - they will add visual volume. On the inner corners, apply a drop of white or light pearlescent shadows and blend them to the center of the eyelids. Apply darker shadows to the outer corner and blend them to the temples and to the center, create a light haze and a smooth transition from a light shade of shadows to a darker one. You can use eyeliner - start drawing a line from about the middle of the century and bring a clear arrow up, increasing its width gradually.

It is necessary to exclude dark matte textures on the entire moving eyelid - they will make the eyes even smaller.

What you definitely shouldn't do is outline them with black and especially draw the kayals - this technique will make them tiny. To make small eyes more expressive, paint over only the upper eyelashes with dark mascara and do not paint the lower ones.

"Heavy" eyelid

With the problem of the "heavy" age even young girls of Asian appearance or more mature persons encounter it, and at any age it can be solved with the help of the right make-up.The technique of darkening the outer corner will allow you to correct the overhanging eyelid - put dark shadows on it, shading them up and darken the crease of the upper one - look in front of you in the mirror and draw a thin line above the crease, blend all the lines well. All strokes with a pencil or shadows should be directed upwards - this will visually lift the swollen eyelid. Makeup artists advise to further lengthen the eyebrows and not lower their tips down.

"Lowered" corners

They give fatigue to the overall facial expression and a drooping look.despite the high spirits. When creating makeup, it is important to bring the line of eyeliner or shadows up to the temples - this will visually lift the “lowered” outer corners. Apply shadows with the following sequence: light - in the outer corners, dark - on the outer, something in between - in the middle. The ideal choice for girls with "sad" eyes will be arrows, while they can be clearly drawn or shaded, like Marilyn Monroe.

Round eyes

It is necessary to visually stretch the corners with a line liner or using dark shadows that will go beyond the outer corner. In a word - choose arrows or shade a pencil, shadows to the temples and do not forget about darkening the outer corner. Paint over the upper lashes well and curl them up - they will visually create an almond-shaped shape.

deep-set

Save "drowned" eyes will allow a simple technique: Apply light eye shadow or a pearly finish concealer to the mobile eyelid and blend the cosmetics a little beyond its natural limits. Highlight the inner corner with a light, almost white pencil and draw an arrow to the temple.The emphasis on the lips will help get rid of sunken eyes - let them become the “face of the face”.

Do not forget about the eyebrows and draw a natural wide line.

convex

Big bulging eyes also need correction. Exclusively pearlescent shadows on the moving eyelid will make the eyes even more voluminous, so give preference to matte textures with dark pigment. Draw the eyebrow line a little further outside the outer corner of the eye. It is appropriate to emphasize it with a white pencil or a small amount of light shadows.

widely set

It is necessary to visually bring the eyes closer to each other and follow the main rule - brighten the outer corner and darken the inner one. This is the case when the eyeliner line can start at the very base of the eye - the inner corner and even go beyond it by 1-2 mm. The application of the shadow pigment begins from the inner corner and is shaded until the middle of the century, light shades are superimposed on the outer corner, their borders are shaded with a brush. To visually bring the eyes closer together, it is worth shaping the eyebrows correctly - draw a couple of extra strokes at their base.

close set

The bright owner of this form is the famous Hollywood diva Sarah Jessica Parker.. If you pay attention to her makeup, you can see that her inner corners of her eyes are always highlighted with light shadows with a pearly finish. In the case of close-set eyes, you can completely darken the upper eyelid with shadows with a glossy finish or choose a matte texture depending on the size of the eyes. All lines should be drawn to the temples, shadows, pull the liner upwards with a natural line without fanaticism - this will visually lift your eyes. Another important tip is to start the line of eyeliner and arrows from about the middle of the century.

slanted

Correction of slanting eyes is reduced to the minimum use of cosmetics in this area. - focus on the lips and work out the eyebrows well. Emphasize the eyes themselves with light light shadows and choose mascara with a natural curling effect, work out the outer corners and twist a little cilia in them.

How to choose make up?

In makeup, techniques have firmly established themselves that allow you to step by step and visually adjust the eyes and bring emphasis to a holistic look.

  • Eye color plays an important role - for walnuts, choose golden, bronze and any brown shades of shadows and eyeliners, for olive - lilac and purple (the last two are for a cold skin tone) or universal colors - green, brown. For blue eyes, choose classic contrasting shades - gray, dark blue and unusual colors - orange, pink, for gray ones - lilac, cold turquoise and blue, light gray and brown.
  • Color type Summer accepts shades of the color of the sea and sky - blue, light blue, lilac and gray, including with brown, white, silver pigment. The main rule is that they are found in nature. Spring is all warm tones from beige and brown to green, winter is cold pink (even on the eyelids), gray, blue, autumn is red, brown pigments and black.
  • Creating fox (slanting) eyes implies the removal of a long arrow almost to the temples. This technique is suitable for Asian women and the fair sex with naturally small eyes (including wide and narrow set). With it, the effect of a lowered inner corner and a raised outer corner is achieved, so for its natural embodiment it is worth striving for this.

Tips from makeup artists

  • In pursuit of the perfect arrow take a tip: to find your shape, close your eye and continue the natural line of the eye. To make the line clear, stick a piece of tape at the outer corner and draw a pencil or liner over it;
  • Almost any makeup a darkened outer corner of the eye and a small arrow are used - this is the way out if you have not yet been able to determine your type of makeup;
  • To open up your eyes, and wide eyes, put a white dot with a pencil or shadows on the inner corner. This technique is not suitable for those who have far-set eyes;
  • If the eyes are big, paint over the eyelashes at the very base, if small - do not try to put a little on the roots of the hairs, start applying mascara, stepping back a little from the roots;
  • thin eyeliner line, carried out from the middle of the moving eyelid, will transform any eye makeup and correct their shape;
  • Increase Shadow Durability or a corrector will help the use of a special primer and its application to an unprepared moving eyelid;
  • To brighten up your eyes draw a line of kayal along the mucous membrane with a white or flesh-colored pencil; and then you can “sculpt” any direction and style, it is important to prepare the base - the ideal shape.
