Myths and legends of ancient Greece have a special appeal. When we read these stories or watch films based on events described in ancient literature, we imagine fearless heroes, immortal gods, beautiful goddesses. Perhaps, any girl would like to be in the place of the heroine of such myths. And today we will help you with this. After all, our topic today will be incredibly stylish and popular Greek makeup.

Features of Greek makeup

Makeup in the style of the ancient Greek goddesses, in fact, is universal: it can be performed as a daily option. Make-up for any holidays.

Its distinguishing features are clear, almost geometric eyebrows, bright eyes and smooth, as if glowing skin.

This makeup perfectly emphasizes any appearance, but it is best suited for brown-eyed and green-eyed beauties with a golden skin tone.

Required Products

To create a Greek-style make-up, prepare the following beauty products:

  • Palette with shadows in brown tones;
  • Toning cream;
  • loose powder;
  • Blush bronzer;
  • Black or dark brown eye liner;
  • Gel for fixing eyebrows and a comb for them;
  • Volumetric mascara;
  • For lips, we will use gloss or lipstick in a muted reddish hue or neutral brown;
  • Brushes, sponges, cotton pads, cotton swabs.

Step-by-step instruction

The main rule when applying any decorative makeup is pre-cleansed skin. Wash your face or use cosmetic milk to remove sebum and other impurities from the skin. Next, use your regular day cream. Gently apply it on your face, let it absorb well.

And start applying the tinted base. Blend it on the face with a thin layer with a brush, correct problem areas with a corrector, give a matte finish with powder;

Making perfect eyebrows. Get them in shape. Remove unwanted hairs with tweezers. After that, with clear, shading movements, draw them. Blend a little with a cotton swab, fix the shape with a gel. Do not be afraid to "darken" the eyebrows - Greek makeup is just the case where the darker they are, the better;

We form zygomatic arches. Take a wide brush and emphasize the cheekbones with bronze blush, leading a line from the temple to the lower point of the zygomatic bone. Blend thoroughly until the border between skin color and blush disappears. They should lie under the cheekbone like a shadow;

We do eye makeup. The eyes of the Greek goddesses are large, languid, mysterious, bewitching. To achieve this effect, matte brown and gold shades with mother-of-pearl particles will help us. The makeup technique is as follows - we cover the upper movable eyelid with golden shadows and draw a line on the border of the growth of the lower eyelashes. With brown shadows, we paint over the rest of the eyes, up to the eyebrows. Choose a shade that looks as natural as possible and smoothly transitions from lighter to darker.

After shading the shadows, draw an arrow on the upper eyelid with black eyeliner.The closer the arrow approaches the outer corner of the eye, the wider it should be and eventually go beyond the border of the eyelid. Raise the tip of the arrow a little. No need to make it too long - 2-3 millimeters will be enough. The final touch is painting eyelashes with voluminous mascara in 2 layers;

We give juiciness to the lips. For a sexy lip effect, apply a matte gloss or lipstick in a bright or nude color. You heard right - bright lipstick with bright eyes when doing makeup in the Greek style gets along quite well. The only “but”: the lack of gloss and sparkles on the lips, so the image will lose sensuality and become vulgar.

Creating an evening look

If you have chosen Greek makeup for a solemn event, take care of the integrity of the image. Then you can literally feel like a goddess.

So what to consider:

  • Dress in the Greek style. By far, the best and most common option is a white and gold flowing floor-length dress made of light fabric, caught under the bust with a belt, with a V-neck. In principle, you can “play” with the length, a shorter version is not forbidden. But the color scheme of the outfit should be designed in just such colors - white, gold, light beige or deep blue. It is advisable to wear wicker sandals on the legs;
  • Accessories. Choose gold-colored jewelry. Silver is also allowed, but it will not look so impressive in this case. Put on a hoop bracelet on your arm above the elbow. You can decorate your ears with massive earrings;
  • Hairstyle. And the final touch of the image will be a truly Greek hairstyle, assembled from pre-twisted hair.You can braid the braid to the side.

You can pull your hair up a little casually and stab it with hairpins. “Knots” with loose strands look very nice, framing and emphasizing the face.

Add a bright detail in the form of a live flower pinned to the hair, a gold headband or a silk ribbon. Just please choose one thing, do not overload the romantic image of the goddess with details.

Greek makeup and the image as a whole has not lost its relevance for many years. Therefore, feel free to experiment and do not be afraid to be bright and beautiful.
