Egyptian makeup
Ancient Egypt is called the birthplace of modern makeup. It was in this state that the first eyeshadows, lipstick and foundation appeared. In addition, the Egyptians used the prototype of modern nail polish. They are still considered very beautiful women.
Egyptian makeup existed several millennia ago, and today it is no less popular.
Present time
If at the time of Cleopatra clay, copper oxide and ashes, various unsafe pigmented compounds were used as decorative cosmetics, today high-quality cosmetics for creating Egyptian makeup come first.
To create it, you need to arm yourself with modern decorative products: foundation, black eyeliner and mascara, red lipstick.
Creating a tone
A perfectly even skin tone is the basis of any make-up, including those made in the style of Cleopatra. The ancient Egyptians had dark skin, a bronze tan, an oval face shape, so this is what should be taken as the standard of the Egyptian make-up. It is necessary to choose a foundation with a slight tanning effect or additionally use a bronzer. The latter can be applied to the neck, décolleté, shoulders, arms and legs to complete the look.
If you are the owner of an oval face shape by nature, you will not have to adjust it additionally. With a square type, use a dark corrector and visually make the face more elongated: outline the cheekbones with a dark shade, highlight the rest of the lower part with a highlighter.
It is worth noting that the Egyptians had pronounced high cheekbones, so it is worth emphasizing this area with a dark corrective tool.
Highlight the eyes
In Egyptian makeup, the emphasis is on the eyes - mirrors of the female soul. A mysterious, deep and fascinating look is obtained through contrasts and the use of pigmented compositions - black mascara and eyeliner (pencil), rich shades of shadows, selected in accordance with the natural shade of the eyes. To create a seductive "cat" cut, you need to consider a number of recommendations:
- Pre-apply shadow on the moving eyelid. Golden and lilac shades are suitable for brown eyes, for green eyes choose pink or ocher shades, for blue ones - black or dark blue, for gray ones - brown, green.
- You can combine shades and use 2-3 matching and complementary colors.
- Distribute the shadows: on the moving eyelid - a rich shade that turns into haze closer to the eyebrow. In Egyptian makeup, shadows are applied almost to the eyebrow - in such a way as to create a smooth transition from rich to light color.
- Now you need to draw two lines for the growth of eyelashes on the upper and lower eyelids (underline the cut of the eyes). This can be done with a pencil, it is easy to apply and blend in the future, and eyeliner can fix the final result.
- You can connect the lines of the lower and upper eyelids into an arrow that will point upwards, or leave the space “free” and fill it in with a white pencil.
- Outline the eyes again with a bold line using eyeliner or pencil, taking it outside the natural cut;
- Thickly coat your lashes with black charcoal mascara. The thicker and longer the eyelashes, the better.
- Particular attention should be paid to the upper eyelashes, they should be open and lush. It is enough to paint the lower ones in one layer.
Eyes are the main element in the image of Cleopatra. It is important to emphasize their natural cut with a rich black color and eyeliner that affects both the lower and upper eyelids. Experiment with the length of the arrows and the width of the lines, don't be afraid to be bright. The brighter the eyes are drawn, the more realistic the image will turn out. The final lines should be clear and persistent.
Makeup should look neat and not have flaws. To create it, choose high-quality cosmetics (and especially mascara, eyeliner), which will not crumble or smear at any opportunity.
Create eyebrows
After creating the eye makeup, it is worth moving on to the design of the eyebrows. This sequence may not be very familiar, but it allows you to make a harmonious make-up and not overdo it with cosmetics in the upper part of the face. The eyebrows of a woman of Ancient Egypt are strictly defined, wide, have a diagonal and a bend. It is necessary to create the most natural eyebrows, the shade of which will match the hair color.
It is necessary to draw hairs from below and upwards, repeating their natural image. The thinner the pencil lead, the sharper the eyebrows will turn out.
Eyebrow mascara will help fix the result, it will visually make them more voluminous.
Last step - lips
Lips in the style of Nefertiti - almost nude, with a natural shine. It is recommended to choose a shade of lipstick 1-2 shades darker than the natural skin tone, and it does not matter whether the color tends to brown or pink.
Egyptian makeup is distinguished by its brightness and strict, clear lines, especially in the area of \u200b\u200bthe eyebrows and eyes. True Egyptians had dark skin, lush outlined eyebrows and green eyes, but not every representative of an ancient civilization could boast of such an appearance. To emphasize their beauty, women used various pigments to color their eyelids, eyelashes and lips. Today, any woman can do Egyptian makeup step by step, choosing the right shades of decorative cosmetics and drawing an individual image right on her face.
The main rule is not to be afraid of bright and clear lines that outline the eyes and create the effect of a “cat's look”.
Peculiarities
- In Egyptian makeup, the upper eyelid has a semi-circle shape, while the lower eyelid has a straight shape.
- It does not matter at all whether the two lines of the eyelids intersect with each other. To visually enlarge the eyes, use the "parallel stroke" technique: do not cross the lines between each other, but continue to lead them to the temple area. If your eyes are naturally large, feel free to connect the eyeliner lines with each other and bring them as far as possible.
- A feature of Egyptian makeup is an elongated eyebrow, which seems to stretch parallel to the eyeliner line.
- The lips may be red or even with brown pigment.
- Egyptian makeup can also vary - for example, red, gold and black hues predominated in Cleopatra's classic look. Queen Nefertiti introduced additional pigments - like blue and blue tones on the eyes.
- It is necessary to exclude pallor of the skin. Egyptian makeup looks especially good on tanned ladies.
- Bronzer should be applied all over the face as part of this type of makeup.
- As for the arrows, eyeliner lines, you can experiment and draw not simple straight lines, but create small patterns. You can, for example, draw a few more lines from the arrow.
