How beautiful to fold napkins into a glass?

Decorating the table for the holiday, you always want to add some zest to the decor. Beautifully folded napkins will help to do this.

According to the rules of etiquette, linen napkins (made of linen or cotton with the addition of synthetics) and paper napkins (it is recommended to put a napkin holder for free access) should be present on the table. In no case should you set the table with products made of viscose or silk, which have a low absorbency and slip in your hands.

Before you start folding napkins to decorate the festive table, remember the basic rules:

• you need to fold the products only with dry and clean hands, so as not to leave unaesthetic stains on the products;
• fold napkins in such a way that guests can easily unwind and use them;

• before twisting a complex figure, think about what form the product will take in the future. Napkins after unfolding should not be very wrinkled;
• before decorating the table with figuratively folded napkins, practice well, given the size of the cups in which they will be placed;
• an iron can be used to facilitate the folding work. Its application will be effective when the products are still damp. Dry products must be pre-moistened;
• after washing, linen napkins need to be starched.

There are many options for decorating a glass with napkins. Such decorations always look elegant, neat, hold well and do not take up space on the table:

• Flower. This design option will look great in champagne glasses or in glasses for juice. Products from thin, unstarched fabrics must be folded four times (in the form of a rhombus). Open edges should be directed upwards. Bend the bottom corner up 1/3. Then we make an "accordion". We fix the lower part of the flower with a ring or place the figure directly in the glass, without additional decorations. Should have 4 corners. We carefully separate the layers, imitating the petals.
• Lily. The napkin must be folded in half diagonally. Bend the corners to the top of the triangle. Then fold the product horizontally in half. Bend the top of the triangle.

• Tulip. This method of decorating requires significant time costs. For a figure in the form of a tulip, plain paper products of yellow, red and white are well suited. The napkin needs to be folded in half, bend the corners to the center. Flip over to the other side and do the same again. The sharp corner formed at the base must be bent in half, the sides twisted in a circle and inserted into the glass.
• Lotus. Bend the corners of the napkin to the center. Should be a square. Repeat the procedure.The corners that are in the center must be bent down. Flip the figure. Pull the corners to the opposite side. To add volume, the figure must be slightly pulled. There is another design option for a napkin in the form of a lotus flower. The top and bottom of the napkin need to be bent to the center. For preparatory folds, divide the paper into 8 squares. Make an "accordion". Bend the corners to the sides formed in the middle to make triangles. Expand lotus. Put in a glass.

• Rose. Fold the green napkin diagonally. Roll a red or white plain napkin into a “roll” and wrap it in a green triangle.

Kinds:

• Pouch. This type of figure can be made from paper or linen napkins, but it will look most impressive using white linen. A napkin folded in this way would be appropriate for decorating a table or indicating personalized places for guests. You can also put a small present or wish in the bag. The napkin needs to be folded diagonally, but not in half, but so that one edge is larger and the other smaller. Bend both edges "on yourself". Bend the top corner to make it look like a barrel.
• Fan. The napkin must be turned face down and folded "accordion". Bend in the center into two equal parts. Insert the finished fan into the glass and straighten the folds a little.

• Horn. This decoration method is very easy to implement. Fold a square napkin 4 times. Bend the side corners to the center, tuck the bottom edge so that it slightly overlaps the side ones.Fold the product inward so that the edges meet, and the bottom corner is in the middle.
• Candle. When creating such a figure, it is better to use napkins of the same color without decor. "Candle" in a glass will be an excellent decoration at a gala event and during a small feast. You will need a large linen napkin. It must be folded diagonally, twisted tightly from the base of the triangle, bent in half and put in a glass. Variations are possible: bend the roller into two unequal parts so that one is higher.

• Bunny. Both paper and fabric products are suitable for this figure. Fold the napkin in half and then lengthwise. Fold the edges down parallel to the middle of the product, lift the side corners up, make triangles out of them. Take the side corners and repeat the folding procedure. Then unfold and fold corner to corner.
• Herringbone. Fold a green linen napkin 2 times. Bend each layer up so that there is a gap of 2 cm between the corners. Turn over to the other side, bend the edges towards the middle so that you get a triangle. Put the figure for a while under a heavy object so that it does not straighten, but takes the desired shape. Then turn the figure over to the other side, bend each layer.

• Heart. Fold the napkin into a triangle. Bend the bottom edges to the top and turn over. Bend the top of the product down to open the corners. Bend the bottom to the sides diagonally. Fold the small corners formed on the sides inward. Turn the napkin over, hide the folds.

Napkins in the form of a fan and a horn can be fastened with rings or decorated with ribbons.They are easy to make on your own (having a time limit) in a harmonious combination with the color and style of the tablecloth and other items of the festive table.
