Rules of conduct in public transport for schoolchildren

  1. Courtesy and general convenience
  2. How to get to the right place safe and sound

Sooner or later in the life of any student there comes a moment when you need to hit the road. And here there are strict standards, which are due both to safety requirements and to considerations of the convenience of the child himself, other children and adults. It is enough to learn the simplest principles, learn how to apply them automatically in order to drive comfortably and calmly in any city and even beyond!

Courtesy and general convenience

The rules of conduct in public transport are usually studied as if every passenger on any trip is in danger of an accident or other critical situation. It is much more accurate to consider the “usual” situation, and leave the life safety standards for later. Moreover, the same principles of behavior must be observed in theaters and cinemas, in a crowd and in a store, on an airplane, on a train, on a ship ...

Remember: unless absolutely necessary (exit at the next stop, complete lack of seats or settlement with the conductor) you can’t stop at the very entrance. You need to go to the center of the cabin, sit in any free seat or take a standing position. But you can’t rush either - look so that you don’t push anyone, don’t crush your leg, don’t hit by accident and don’t knock any object out of your hands.

Give way to old and elderly people, the disabled, very young children and those who are traveling with a heavy load.For a student, standing for 10-20 minutes is not only not harmful, but it will even be useful. Never try to shake off snow and moisture from clothes and bags on the floor or on the seat, as well as to the sides.

You can’t even eat ice cream, nuts and chocolate bars on public transport.

Caring for the cleanliness of transport and the convenience of other people does not end there. It is unacceptable to comb your hair, cut and clean your nails, pick your nose, teeth and ears. If there is an irresistible urge to sneeze, firmly pinch your nose with your fingers and open your mouth for 10 to 20 seconds, this almost always helps. You should categorically not look at others or follow closely all their actions, shout and sing loudly, talk with friends in public transport “through the entire cabin”.

It is better to prepare the fare at home, in extreme cases, while waiting at the bus stop.

It is forbidden:

  • throw anything on the floor or out the window;
  • cut and tear seats;
  • to impose oneself as an interlocutor to strangers or unfamiliar people;
  • rush to the exit when the transport starts to slow down;
  • push other people out of the way;
  • open newspapers (magazines, voluminous documents) in full;
  • put anything on the legs of other people and on their things without permission, use other passengers as a support;
  • get your feet up on the seat.

How to get to the right place safe and sound

Etiquette is extremely important, but we must not forget about safety rules. Never lean out of the windows, do not enter until the vehicle has come to a complete stop, and do not get out if it has started moving and the doors have begun to close. Refuse to read books, newspapers, watch videos and listen to music during the trip. This is not only unhealthy, but also worsens the reaction at a critical moment.And headphone wires caught on something or a dropped gadget can even cause injury.

There are only two main states for a responsible passenger - he either sits or stands, holding tightly to the handrail (rubber loop). Stay away from coughing and sneezing people, especially in autumn and winter. Never stand on the lowest step unless there is another place.

Make sure that you, your things and clothes are not pressed by the door when opening and closing. Even when a minibus, for example (although it is forbidden), stops in the wrong place, it is better not to get out of it, but to get to a full stop.

Be careful where you step when getting on and off the vehicle. If there are drunk or aggressive people in the cabin, stay away from them and try not to be the first to conflict. When traveling late or early on an empty bus try to sit closer to the driver or the conductor, then it will be more difficult for attackers to attack you.

Do not leave your belongings, inform drivers, conductors and controllers about the left things and suspicious people.

These rules are universal. They must also be observed in other types of public transport: trolleybuses, metro, minibuses.

When traveling by sightseeing bus, this list is supplemented by a few more rules:

  • Belts must be fastened.
  • You can only leave the cabin at stops in an organized manner.
  • Arrive at the collection point and return to the bus at the stops well in advance. So it will be calmer, you will not only not fall behind the group and will not cause trouble or anxiety to anyone, but you will also be able to calmly, without haste, take a certain place.

These and other rules of conduct in public places, including transport, see below.
